Indianapolis Results - Kyle Busch wins the Brickyard 400 - Beef Gets 1st Win!!!!

Hola Amigos!

In my opinion (although I believe it is shared by many) NASCAR had a pretty boring race in Indy.  I wish I had a Kyle Busch pick left and a time machine or crystal ball.  But that doesn't mean our little League didn't have action.

Beef had our Top Pick this week.  He took race winner Kyle Busch who made it look easy at the Brickyard.  Beef gets his 1st win, but more importantly jumps up 3 spots to 5th.  Impressive when you consider that just 5 races ago he was in 12th place.  With 6 races to go and only 1 win, Beef will want to continue rock starring his picks in order to cement himself in the Elite 8 or grab 2 more wins to lock himself into the Chase.   CHASE HEALTH  Congratulations Beef!

TOP 10:

Penguin took 4th place finisher Hamlin.  Penguin jumps up 1 spot to 12th and sits 17 points away from the Elite 8.  With 2 wins and 6 races to go I have options to get into the Chase, but I wish I had that 3rd win right about now.    CHASE HEALTH

Piston, Skidmarks, and Pursuit took Larson (5th).
Team Piston is starting to look like Indy Kyle Busch as their lead is getting larger.  They are now 27 points ahead of 2nd place.  CHASE HEALTH
Skid jumps up 2 spots to 10th and is just 10 points away from the Elite 8 with 2 wins.
CHASE HEALTH
Pursuit picks up a little ground but is still in 15th and 89 points out of the Elite 8.  It's not looking good right now, but a win this week in Pocono will change things up for Pursuit.  CHASE HEALTH

Shepard and Chonk took Harvick (6th).
Shepard jumps up a spot to 4th and with no wins, he'll need to keep up the good work over the last 6 races before the Chase.  CHASE HEALTH
Chonk moves up a spot to 9th and is just 5 points out of the Elite 8 with 2 wins; thus giving him multiple options to get into the postseason.  CHASE HEALTH

Nice Job Fellas!

EH...:

#Wifey and Kiss took Stewart (11th).
#Wifey drops a spot to 8th, but he's already in the Chase.  He'll need to keep fighting for those Bonus Points, but has a lot less pressure than most of us.  CHASE HEALTH
Kiss stays in 14th and 63 points away from the Elite 8 with only 1 win.  He's in a similar position as Pursuit; a win next week would give him more hope as he fights to make the Chase.

Empty took Gordon who finished 13th.  Empty stays in 11th and sits 15 points out of the Elite 8 with 1 win.  His mission is clear over the last 6.  CHASE HEALTH

DOOTW:

Wheels took Keselowski who was one of 3 drivers to lead laps in Indy.  His team was on a fuel mileage strategy that may have paid off, but an Edwards mistake late in the race ruined his chances and he finished 17th.  Wheels stays in 6th with 0 wins.  There have been much worse Dutch Ovens than a 17th place finish...  CHASE HEALTH

BSOTW:

Our most popular pick this week was yet another BSOTW!  This has really been unbelievable right?
Newman finished 31st.
Rusty (2nd) is locked in, but is losing ground on Piston.  CHASE HEALTH
Graziano (3rd) and has 0 wins.  CHASE HEALTH
Ideal drops 2 spots to 6th and has 2 wins.  CHASE HEALTH
Dust drops 4 spots to 13th and now 29 spots out of the Elite 8 with 1 win. CHASE HEALTH

Tough luck this week guys.

OTHER RAMBLINGS:

Pocono this week on Sunday.

If you look at the Elite 8 drivers you'll see some interesting trends.  Piston, Rusty, Shepard have been hanging out at the top all season.  Graziano fell as low as 11th early but made a quick climb to the top of the standings.  Graz has only been out of the Elite 8 for only 3 races this season.  While Ideal has gone in and out of the Elite a couple of times, he has been solid at the top... just a little stumble this week.  Check out Wheel's line... a strong run early at the top, then a free fall to 10th for 4 weeks.  But a nice rebound and she's back in the Elite 8 for 4 weeks now.  #Wifey has bounced up and down the leader board, but his 3 wins are what matters as he clings to a spot in the Elite 8.  Beef's line is even more compelling as he has spent 9 weeks this season in 11th or 12th.  Now in just 2 races he not only broke back into the Elite 8... he now sits in 5th.  His highest mark since week 2 where he was in 3rd.

Good luck in Pocono this week!

Cheers!
