Bristol Results - No Wins Again - 3 to Go... Where Do You Stand???

What can you say about Bristol?  We had the stress of short track racing mixed with the stress of a rain delay which resulted in a pretty f'd up race.   Nobody picked race winner Harvick, but there was plenty action that could impact who's in and who's out as we wind down the regular season.  Just 3 races to go... let's see where we stand!

Running Order if the Chase Started This Week:

These Guys Would Be In - 

1st Piston had yet another solid week taking Gordon who finished Eh...11th.  He is now 29 points clear of 2nd and 120 points away from 9th.  They may not be a lock on the top spot (even though they are looking really good), but it would take something pretty crazy for them not to be a lock for the Chase.  I am calling them a lock for the Chase.   CHASE HEALTH

2nd Graziano took TOP PICK Edwards who finished 6th.  He gained a little ground on Piston this week but more importantly he is still solidly locked into the Elite 8.  He is now 91 points clear of 9th and should be locked in with a solid pick on Sunday.   CHASE HEALTH

3rd Shepard had the TOP PICK again this week (Edwards).  He is now 76 points clear of 9th and is very close to locking in.  CHASE HEALTH

4th Rusty had another rough week with his DOOTW/BSOTW Blaney pick (35th).  He's locked in (3 wins)  and looking to hang on to those Bonus Points, so he'll need to break this streak in the final races.  45 points clear of 9th; he avoids dropping spots this week though.  CHASE HEALTH

5th Beef had another solid week with TOP PICK Edwards.  He's now 37 points clear of 9th and jumps up 2 huge spots this week.  CHASE HEALTH

6th Chonk had a good week with Elliott (Eh...15th) considering all of the carnage. He's now 36 points clear of 9th and don't forget those 2 wins.  CHASE HEALTH

7th Ideal had a tough week with his DOOTW/BSOTW Kyle Busch pick.  He drops 2 spots but is still 28 points clear of 9th.     CHASE HEALTH

8th Dust had an Eh... week with his Elliott pick, but is now back in the Elite 8.  1 win and 18 points clear of 9th has him happy this week.  He must finish strong in order to get into the Chase, but things look a little better this week.   CHASE HEALTH

10th, but 9th if the Chase Starts This Week #Wifey had a rough week with his DOOTW/BSOTW Blaney pick.  He's locked in (3 wins), but now 23 points away from 8th and those Bonus Points.  Will he rally and grab one of those Elite 8 spots or will he save fuel?  CHASE HEALTH

These Guys Would Be Out - 

9th Wheels had a rough week with her DOOTW/BSOTW Kurt Busch pick.  She has 0 wins and trails 8th by 18 points.  3 wins in 3 races is unlikely, but 3 solid weeks would give her a great chance to get back in and qualify for the Chase.  CHASE HEALTH

11th Kiss had an Eh... week but still gained a little ground on the Elite 8.  He jumped up 2 spots to 11th... that's great and all but with 1 win and 28 points out of a qualifying position he is in the same boat as Wheels.  CHASE HEALTH

12th Penguin took a break from shitting the bed with his TOP PICK Edwards.  37 points out of the Elite 8 gives a little hope but getting 1 win in the last 3 races is a more likely scenario if the Penguin will compete for the Championship this year.   CHASE HEALTH

13th Skidmarks had a rough week with his DOOTW/BSOTW Kurt Busch pick and drops 2 spots.  39 points away from the Elite 8 with 2 wins puts him in the same boat as Penguin.  Get that win Skid!   CHASE HEALTH

14th Empty had a tough week with his DOOTW/BSOTW Kyle Busch pick.  He drops 2 spots to 14th, but more troubling he is 43 points away from the Elite 8 with only 1 win.  Making the Elite 8 on points is possible, but winning 2 of 3 is the more likely scenario.     CHASE HEALTH

15th Pursuit had an Eh... week with his Elliot pick, but he will need more than that if he will make the Chase.  His mission is still clear, but his odds are shrinking.  Win 2 of the next 3 or get ready for football season.   CHASE HEALTH


OTHER RAMBLINGS:

Did I mention we have 3 HUGE races to go??????  

I predict we will have multiple teams with winning picks this week.  They'll have to pick the same driver of course and we are in a bit of a collective slump, but I guarantee* we will have winning picks this week.

Watkins Glen Results - Hamlin Wins and Nobody Picked Him

Hola Amigos!  Some had really good weeks (12 of 15 were in the TOP 10) and 1 DOOTW'd (Pursuit) and 2 BSOTW'd (Rusty and Penguin).  

We are heading into a much needed break this weekend (for some of us) as our little League takes the final turn of the regular season.  Let's go through the Field this week and see how each team is set up for this final run:

1st Piston has led for 8 weeks in a row now and 11 overall.  That's 50% of the races run they have held the top spot.  They have just 1 win, but are 99 points clear of 9th and look to be a lock for the Postseason.  Another solid week this week with a 5th place Stewart pick.  CHASE HEALTH

2nd Graziano moves up a spot this week with a nice 8th place finish from McMurray.  Graz has spent 19 weeks in the Elite 8 including 1 week in 1st and has been steadily climbing to the front.  He's 35 points away from 1st but more importantly 64 points clear of 9th.  0 wins though, so he'll need to keep it up for the last 4 races.  CHASE HEALTH

3rd Shepard had the TOP PICK this week with 2nd place Logano.  Shepard has spent all but week 1 in the Elite 8 this season.  He's 50 points away from 1st and 49 points clear of 9th.  0 wins as well, but we have no indication of weakness in this team.  CHASE HEALTH

4th Rusty had a rough week with his Larson pick (29th).  He's locked in with those 3 wins, but will still be eyeing those bonus points that come with staying in the Elite 8.  Rusty is 51 points from 1st and 48 points clear of 9th.  Rusty has never been out of the Elite 8 this year and held the top spot for 6 weeks.  CHASE HEALTH

5th Ideal had another solid week with Allmendinger (4th).  Ideal is having a strong season spending all but 5 weeks in the Elite 8 and has been as high as 3rd this year.  He has 2 wins, is 66 points away from 1st and 33 points clear of 9th.  CHASE HEALTH

6th Chonk had another solid week with Allmendinger (4th). Chonk has spent only 6 weeks in the Elite 8 but has been solid over 11 of the last 12 races.  He also has 2 wins.  81 points away from 1st and 18 points clear of 9th.  CHASE HEALTH

7th Beef had another solid week with Allmendinger (4th).  Beef has spent 8 weeks in the Elite 8 including the last 4 in a row and has been solid in 8 of the last 9 races.  He has only 1 win and 10 points clear of 9th, so he'll have to keep it up in the last 4 races.   CHASE HEALTH

8th Wheels had another solid week this week with a 5th place Stewart pick.  Wheels has had an impressive rookie year!  She led the league in the 1st 5 races and has spent 18 races in the Elite 8.  She fell out of the Elite 8 for 4 weeks in a row because of a DQ but has rebounded very nicely.  We'll see if having to burn a Kyle Busch pick will hurt her, but she has some work to do over the last 4 regular season races.  She is 6 clear of 9th and has 0 wins.  CHASE HEALTH 

9th Dust took 6th place finisher Kyle Busch.  Dust has spent 9 weeks in the Elite 8 but finds himself 6 points out with 4 to go.  With only 1 win, he'll need some solid picks or 2 wins as we sprint for the finish line.  CHASE HEALTH

10th #Wifey had another solid week with Allmendinger (4th).  #Wifey has also had an impressive rookie season.  He has run in the Elite 8 for 14 weeks but finds himself 8 points out as we near the Chase.  He has 3 huge wins though and is locked and loaded.  I have to think he will want to grab some of those bonus points, so he'll be looking to make a run over the final 4.  CHASE HEALTH

11th Skidmarks had another solid week this week with a 5th place Stewart pick.  Skid has had an interesting season and started out great... spending the first 5 weeks in the top 3 spots including a week in 1st.  But he fell out of the Elite 8 and has not made it back since.  He now sits 21 points out of the Elite 8 and has 2 wins.  He has plenty of options to make the Chase, but will need a strong run or 1 more win in the last 4 races.  CHASE HEALTH

12th Empty had another solid week this week with a 5th place Stewart pick.  Empty has spent 7 weeks in the Elite 8 this year, but finds himself 26 points out with 1 win.  His mission is clear over the last 4.  Get wins or get lucky.  A BSOTWfest would also be nice if he is not part of it.  CHASE HEALTH

13th Kiss had the TOP PICK this week with 2nd place Logano.  2 weeks in a row with the TOP PICK is nice, but it would have been nicer if they were wins.  He does pass the Commish this week, but that and 20 bucks will get you a lap dance.  He has only spent week 1 in the Elite 8.  However, Kiss's Chase outlook has improved a little though as he is 34 points away from 8th with 1 win... His mission is also very clear... keep it up and get lucky.  BSOTWfest???  CHASE HEALTH

14th Penguin had a rough week with his Larson pick (29th).  Penguin has spent 9 weeks in the Elite 8 this year but has been on a downward spiral over the last 11 races.  He has picked up a second win, but finds himself 52 points out of 8th.  It's really simple for Penguin... get that 3rd win or spend the Chase watching you a-holes battle it out for the Championship... CHASE HEALTH

15th Pursuit had a rough week this week with his 15th place Edwards pick.  Pursuit has never been higher than 11th this year and that was in week 1.  His Chase hopes are bleak, but a win next week in Bristol will give him some hope.  His mission is clear get 2 wins in the last 4 races.  CHASE HEALTH

I'm still hoping that we all make the Chase even though some of us will have to use up our stuff to get there... You just never know in this League what will happen, so give yourself a chance and maybe that Bowyer pick will come through for you in the Chase.
