Dover Results - Bent over in Dover Again!!! We Are All Bunched Up and We Have a New Leader Again!!!

Dover never disappoints if you love being disappointed.  JJ's faulty transmission made sure of that... After the 18 car pile up dust settled, almost half of our League got Bent Over in Dover.

Some had a great week though like those Kyle Larson pickers.  Our TOP PICK Larson finished 2nd for Dust and Pursuit.  Dust now own 7th alone but gains 10 points on 1st and Pursuit is still in 15th, but gains 26 points on 8th and is now just 41 points away from the Elite 8.  A win would have been great and Kyle almost made it happen for them... so close!  Congratulations Boys!!

Shepard moves up a spot to 4th with his Keselowski (6th) pick.  Shepard continues his strong 2016 run and looks to be cementing his spot in the Elite 8.  Nice Job Amigo!

Piston and Ideal took Hamlin who finished 7th.  Piston regains the lead after taking a week off from running out front and Ideal holds steady in 6th.  Piston has been at the top all season long (7 of 12 races in the top 3) and Ideal has settled into the Elite 8 for the last 3 weeks now.  Well done fellas!

Chonk (10th) is our biggest mover this week jumping up 3 spots with his 9th place Truex Jr. pick.  Truex was solid again this week, but was part of the Johnson incident... another solid week for Chonk nonetheless.  Don't look now but Chonk is now 1 point away from the Elite 8.  Pretty amazing if you consider that just 5 races ago he was in 15th place and 67 points behind 8th.  Not to mention he's now 69 (Nice!) points away from 1st when 5 races ago he was 122 points out.  AND another win locks his ass into the Chase anyway...  It's good to be Chonk right about now!

Harvick (15th) was the lap leader but issues in the pits put him in the fray of the Johnson incident.   Giving Rusty and Penguin get the EH... pick this week.  Rusty stays in 3rd and is only 15 points out of 1st and Penguin drops a spot to 5th 30 points out of 1st and 39 points clear of 9th.  It could be worse...

Damn it Jim!  I mean Jimmie... Johnson (25th) our most popular pick gets a share for the DOOTW. That incident we have already discussed logs another disappointing week for our League's most popular pick.  Harvick was the Vegas favorite and wasn't great, but maybe our League Most Popular Pick is the source of the curse and not the Vegas Favorite... kind of like the Sports Illustrated Curse right?  Is that still a thing???  Anyway... Graziano, Empty, Beef, and Skidmarks all chose Johnson.  Graz drops a spot to 2nd, Empty (8th) actually gains a spot and is back in the Elite 8, Beef drops a spot to 12th and Skid drops a spot to 13th.  We're not used to seeing Beef and Skid struggle like this, but it is still early and they aren't that far away from the Elite 8, so we'll see how the next few races play out.

Co-DOOTW pick Edwards (28th) was picked by Wheels and Kiss.  Wheels (8th) continues her fall down the leaderboard, but stays in the Elite 8 by the slimmest of margins and Kiss stays in 14th but doesn't have far to fall.  With Pursuit having a solid week, the leaderboard from top to bottom is very bunched up.

#Wifey gets the BSOTW with his 30th place Kyle Busch pick.  Kyle was part of the Johnson incident.  This drops #Wifey 2 spots and he now sits in 11th just 6 points out of the Elite 8.  There is no doubt  he is in a bit of a slump and I know that feeling this League can give you when things aren't going your way.  Let's not forget that he also has 2 wins so we are just 1 race away from him getting that last win and locking in.  So that could erase the recent struggles really quick.

OTHER RAMBLINGS:

We have a week off this week as we gear up for Charlotte in 2 Sundays.

I have to admit that I wish I were in 1st all season with a 200 point lead, but since that will never happen... I think it is awesome that we are all so bunched up.  I mean come on!  1st through 7th could change hands if something weird were to happen... 8th through 15th could as well.  It most likely won't happen that way, but it means that a few strong weeks could take a bottom team to the top and a few bad weeks could take a top team to the bottom.  We have always known that I know, but 12 races into this thing and the only thing we know is no one is safe and no one is out.  Keep digging!

I hope the SI Curse was never really a thing and is just an Urban Legend that's for sure... but my Astros are sucking so far this year although we just took a series against the White Sox who needed a gem from Sale to hold off the sweep... that would have been nice.  Go Stros!!!

Enjoy the week off and we'll talk again soon!

Cheers!

Kansass Results - Kyle Busch Wins - Nobody Picked Him - BUT We Have a New Leader!!! and Our First DQ...

So Kansas huh???  Plenty of action for our League this week in this usually boring state.  No offense to you Kansas lovers out there of course.

We have a new leader.

We had our 1st DQ this week.

We have our top 4 spots shuffling this week.

The rookies are starting to struggle...

Let's get to it...

RACE RECAP:

Nobody gets a win even though Truex Jr. (the most popular pick) dominated the race and would have probably taken the checkered flag if it weren't for a loose wheel or lug nut issue or whatever the kids are calling it these days.  Once again our most popular pick under performs... Truex gets Piston, Ideal, #Wifey, and Pursuit a DOOTW this week.  Piston loses the lead and falls to 2nd.  Ideal stays in 6th.  #Wifey falls out of the Elite 8 to 9th, and Pursuit stays on the bottom of the leaderboard.

We have a tie for the TOP PICK this week between Kurt Busch (3rd) and Matt Kenseth (4th + Lap Led Bonus).  Graziano's Kurt Busch pick gets him the Lead this week.  Penguin's Kenseth pick jumps him up 2 spots to 4th.  Dust also took Kenseth and climbs 3 spots to a tie for 7th and back in the Elite 8.  Chonk (13th) and Kiss (14th) have a solid race and gain a few points on 8th.  Nice Race Boys!

Skid (12th) and Empty (T9th) have top 10 picks and hold their spots this week.  Beef has an EH... pick and stays in 11th.

Rusty and Shepard share the DOOTW this week with the Truex gang.  Johnson 17th place finish definitely was a disappointment.  But it could have been worse...

Rookie Wheels gets the BSOTW this week as she DQs on the Saturday night race no pick.  More of a Start and Park Jumpsuit Pisser really...  She falls 3 spots but remains in the Elite 8 in a tie for 7th... so not all is lost.  She does burn a big Kyle Busch pick and gets 0 points to show for it.  This may play a big part in her bid to take the title as a rookie this year.

OTHER RAMBLINGS:

Dover this week on Sunday.  My Dog's Nanny loves Dover... she always tells me her Dover name is Ben Dover... silly girl.  I have no idea what this means.

15 races to go before the Chase and that seems like a lifetime at this point, but we have 1/3 of the teams still with 0 wins.  2 of those teams sit outside the Elite 8.  We are so bunched up though... there is no one that should be feeling too safe at the moment.  Let's see how it will all play out.

Good luck this week Guys and Girl!

Cheers!

Talladega Carnage - Keselowski Gets the Win for 1 Team - Dale Jr. BSOTWs for a Bunch of Teams - And We Have a New Leader!!!

The Talladega Crapshoot definitely lived up to its' reputation this week.  We had a win, a last place finish, a lead change, everybody but Pursuit shuffles positions this week... just another crazy eventful race for this &*^%ing League.  Who would have thought Dale Jr. would play the part of Start and Park Jumpsuit Pisser???

Lots of stuff to cover so let's get to it.

TOP PICKS:

Brad Keselowski brought it home for the win for a desperate Penguin.  1st win for Penguin as he busts into the Elite 8 jumping 6 spots into a tie for 6th.  Booyah!

Austin Dillon finished 3rd for Graziano and Ideal.  Graz jumps up a spot to 3rd just 4 points away from the top spot.  Ideal also breaks into the Elite 8 jumping 4 spots into a tie for 6th.  Ideal also has 2 wins and is in a great position to make the playoffs.  Great Job Guys!

Chase Elliott finished 5th for Piston who jumps up 2 big spots and takes the lead from Rusty.  It seemed like it was just a matter of time that team Piston would grab the lead.  They have been running well all season thus far and look to be a strong contender for the title this season.  Bam!

Ryan Blaney took 9th for Shepard.  What a great pick!  Blaney was solid all race and was basically stress free the entire time.  Talladega is usually crazy and a prime race for a sleeper pick like this and it must feel good when that pick turns out well for you.  Shepard jumps up 2 spots to 5th.  Boom!

EH...:

Chonk picked Stenhouse Jr. who navigated his way to a 16th place finish.  All things considered (or as many things as my small brain can consider) this was a solid race for Chonk.  Chonk is in a good spot if you take a closer look and your glass is half full.  2 wins and only 26 points away from the Elite 8... Chonk is not out of this thing by any means.  Nicely done Chonk!

DOOTW:

Rusty took Menard who finished 26th.  Rusty ends his 4 race run at the top but only falls 1 spot to 2nd.  He's only 3 points out of 1st, so not a bad Dutch Oven if you think about it.

Wheels took Hamlin who finished 31st.  Wheels was hit a little harder, as she drops 2 spots to 4th.  I'm expecting another rebound race out of her this week and if I had to give this rookie a grade after the 1st 10 races, it would be a big A+.

BSOTW:

Dale Jr. shit the bed this week just as he did in Daytona.  He just lost control of his race car and slammed into the wall.  In doing so he slams 7 teams this week.  #Wifey falls 3 spots to 8th  (Also an A+ grade for this rookie).  Empty falls 3 spots to 9th.  Dust, Beef, and Skid each drop 2 spots to 10th, 11th, and 12th respectively.  While Kiss drops a spot to 14th and Pursuit stays at the bottom in 15th.  This BSOTW hit some teams harder than others, but it is better for this kind of crappy race to happen early I guess.  Time to rebound in Kansas fellas.

OTHER RAMBLINGS:

Kansas this week on Saturday.

Un-Freakin-Believable how volatile the Vegas favorite most popular pick has been for us this year.  I think Jr. was 3.5 to 1 or 4 to 1 favorite to win this race.

I am thinking of changing the BSOTW to Start and Park Jumpsuit Pisser... I got this from a name from one of the teams in Ideal's NASCAR League and I freakin' love it.  If any of you ever read this far, please weigh in if you think it may be a better name for the BSOTW award.

Get your picks in... I'm going to the beach this weekend to see my Mom so I may not be able to remind you.  I'll still try to post picks within a reasonable time... in theory.

Happy Mother's Day to you Mothers!

Cheers!
