RUH ROH!!!

I have to share a pick entry email from one of the weeks... not necessarily this week. (I'll keep it as Chonkfidential as possible)...

Entry sent prior to race by unnamed team:

Kurt Busch, #78

And if Kyle Busch wins, I will say that you f*cked it up and that I really chose him.  I mean, it's an easy mistake to make - Kurt looks like Kyle and 78 looks so similar to 18.  Anyone could screw it up…even a propeller-hat-spinning computer guy.  No offense.

Commish email reply:  So Vickers?

Unnamed Team day after race:  Correct.  Brian Vickers.

Good Times... It is truly awesome being commissioner of this league.  No offense taken at all.. I am a propeller hat kind of guy,,,

The year I got involved with the league (2006), I was a co-owner of Rusty Truck's team.. the year he won with very little or no help from me, but we won.  The next year, Fat Penguin was born... halfway through that year, when I knew I had no chance I started sending my picks into the then new commish Rusty Truck this way:

Fat Penguin weekly pick:

-----> F*ck it 24 - Jeff Gordon, -----> F*ck it 48 - Jimmie Johnson-----> F*ck it 15 - Clint Bowyer

and so on and so on... the idea was it didn't matter what I thought for the week, NASCAR would happen as it felt like it should happen.. even if Gordon should have won... NASCAR would do what it wanted and logic would get thrown out the window.  F*ck it.... that's why 9 months of frustration is a perfect name of the league.

Why Fat Penguin?
It's a redneck pick up line... you walk up to your target and say, "fat penguin"... she'll look at you funny, but that won't stop you as you repeat, "fat penguin'... she'll then say, "what is fat penguin???"  You then say, "I just wanted to say something that would break the ice."  A double shooter with a wink will pretty much seal the proverbial deal... you are welcome.... Rowdy, replace the she'll with a he'll and you're all set.  LOL!

Why did you pick your team name??? Send me the story and I'll try to share with the group as we go...

A small tribute to past champions... Where did some of these guys go??? Let's get them back if you are still in contact with them.  Redneck Racing... You're Just Not Good Enough... Under Par... Team 33... A- Game.... Luzr2win.... Awesome team names, but... Where the F*ck did you guys go???

Greg, Chris, Ray, Scott, Jeff, Gary, Jeff: cheers to you for being a Champion and still being here!

BACK TO THE FUTURE:

Don't look now, but the commish has risen into the 2nd place money spot for I'm sure a very brief moment... but I'll take it!!! The top three spots did not change otherwise... but 13 teams are less than 100 points out of first place.  A week ago there were 12 within 100, but the point is A LOT of TEAMS ARE STILL IN IT!!!  Rowdy was 120 out last week and 89 points out this week.. 30ish point swing mfers!!!  Save your drivers for the Chase or go balls to the wall early to try to make up spots and get back into the mix??? Decisions, Decisions... Whatever your strategy... Good luck to all... especially Fat Penguin.

Bristol Drivers

There is a nice mix of picks tonight... The top six teams have picked Hamlin, Kurt Busch, Kyle Busch, and Keselowski.  That would be an awesome wreck... wouldn't it?  Good luck to all... especially Fat Penguin.

Michigan Results

Sorry for the late post guys...  Beef takes the lead, Graziano drops out of 1st and out of the money spots.  It is crazy close with only 13 races left.  Good luck tonight at Bristol!

Bad Day Mate!

Did anyone of you who picked Ambrose have the thought in the back of your mind to go against Ambrose and hope he wrecks????  I know for a fact that Rusty and I did... Son of a...

Nice Job by Asleep and Empty with the 2nd Keselowski pick.  Kiss and Rasta with the 5th place Montoya pick... Rast moving up 2 spots into the 3rd place money spot.  And new league leader Graziano with the 6th place Bowyer pick!  Congrats to you guys on a nice gamble and great week!

BSOTW = Ambrose - Notable move out of the money was Beef.  Only 14 points out of 1st however and a long way to go...

Good luck in Michigan this week guys and girl!

Cheers!

Indy Results

It was a solid week for many teams in the league; 11 Teams had top 10 finishes.  Johnson dominated the race, but Newman ran in the top all day and was the best car when it mattered.

Congratulations to Kiss and Rasta for their 1st place Newman picks.  Kiss moves a little further away from the basement while Rasta jumps up two spots and is now just 8 points from a money spot.

Other top picks this week:  Chonk and Pursuit took 2nd place Johnson.  Ideal and Piston took 3rd place Kahne.  Graziano and league leader Skidmarks took 4th place Stewart.  Rowdy and Empty took 7th place Gordon.  And last place Shepard gets a nice 9th place finish from Montoya.

Beef and Asleep got a disappointing 14th from Kurt Busch... not really hurting Beef too much, but Asleep falls 2 spots.

With all of those solid picks, it was a tough week for Dust, who still clings to the 3rd place spot, Penguin, dropping from 4th to 7th, and Rusty, falling out of the top 10.  BSOTW honors will go to Penguin and Rusty.

It is a close race at this point of the season with many teams having a shot at the top prize.  Skidmarks has been solid all year... can anyone catch him?  Good luck to all!

Cheers!
