New Hampshire Results - Nobody Picked Harvick - Lots of Shuffling but Rookies Still on the Outside Looking In. One More Race to Go in the Flirter Round!!!!

Hola Amigos and Amigas!  With race 2 in the books, we have settled absolutely nothing.  Nobody got a win in New Hampshire to lock in to the Teaser Round.  44 points separate 1st through 9th, so no one is safe... some are better off than others, but nobody is locked in after Race 2!

Race Recap:

Rusty and Shepard had the TOP PICK again this week along with and Ideal (5th).  They took 2nd Place Kenseth.  Rusty grabs 1st all alone now, Shepard jumps up a spot to 2nd, and Ideal jumps up 2 to 5th.  Graziano took 3rd place Kyle Busch and jumps up a spot to 5th.  #Wifey took 10th place Larson, but it wasn't enough to crack the top 7.  He jumps up a spot to 8th, but will need to gain 5 more points or a win in Dover to move on to the Teaser Round.

For a 2nd week in a row the rest of the Chasers had an Eh... kind of race finishing 11th to 20th.  This has a little more meaning this week as we are now down to the final Flirter race this weekend and we will be losing 2 teams at the end of the Dover race.  The pressure is on!

OTHER RAMBLINGS:

Things are still tight but have spread out a bit more as expected.  No one is in and no one is out as we head to Dover on Sunday.  A win and you're in, but that is easier said than done.  Bonus points are still a factor as the Rookies stay on the outside of the top 7... I can't wait til Sunday.

Good Luck to All!

Cheers!

Chicago Results - Nobody Picked Truex - Race 1 of 3 of the Flirter Round - All Bunched Up After Chicago - Rookies on the Outside Looking In!!!!!

Welcome to the Chase Mofos!  Well we are bunched up to start the 2016 Chase and race for the chips.  Some familiar teams running atop the leaderboard, but we are a long way from sorting this 1st round out.

Race Recap:

Rusty and Shepard had the TOP PICK Keselowski who finished 5th.  Rusty jumps up 2 spots into a tie for 1st and Shepard jumps up 2 spots to 3rd just 4 points off the lead.

Beef took Kenseth (9th) for a nice TOP 10 finish.  Beef jumps up 2 spots to 5th.

The rest of the Chasers had an EH... kind of race finishing from 11th to 20th.

OTHER RAMBLINGS:

So no one really shit the bed and no one locked in... and more importantly no one is out of it as 28 points separate the 1st and 9th spots.

An early observation shows that the Bonus Points are playing a big part in where you guys stand after the 1st race.  The Rookies find themselves on the outside looking in after the dust settles in Chicago.  Can it be overcome?  Absolutely.  7 and 10 points are the difference between the 7th, 8th and 9th place.

Piston and Rusty are leading the pack as we have seen all year but these preliminary rounds are all about survival.

Oh yeah... a win in the next 2 races will automatically put you into the Teaser Round... so there's that.  Just another thing for you guys to worry about.  Must be nice.

New Hampshire on Sunday.

Good luck to all!

Cheers!

For tie breaker purposes I will keep posting this info:

Richmond Results - 9 Teams IN - Bring on the Chase!!!!!!!

Another regular season is in the books and here's how it ended:

Race Recap:

Ideal gets a HUUUUGGGGE win with his Hamlin pick... he was on the bubble and needed a solid week to get in and he did.  AND he jumps up a spot and gets 2 extra Bonus points AND that win gets him 3 more bonus points to boot.  To recap:  Ideal locks in and grabs 5 extra Bonus points.    #simplefuckinggame

Chonk grabs some big bonus points by jumping up 2 spots.  Keselowski wrecked Kenseth and screwed Dust who was in the Elite 8 and fell out.  Kenseth was probably not going to win the race after the pit road speeding penalty... killing Skid and Penguin's chances.  Dust's loss is Wheels' gain as she took 2nd place Larson who catapults her back into the Elite 8 when it mattered the most.

Congratulations to the 9 teams who made the Chase this year!  For the 6 teams who didn't... bring on football, a stress free Chase Season, and the Baseball Postseason... with a small shout out to the golf playoffs... and plenty of booze as required.

On to the CHASE!!!

Here's how we look as we start the Chase:

Rules for the First round (races 27-29) - “The Flirter”
o   The top seven teams based on points accumulated during races 27-29 will advance to the 2nd round
o   Wins automatically advance a team (in theory) and add 3 extra points to that team’s total to start the next round
§  If every team has a win(s), teams will be eliminated according to the tiebreaker rule below
o   The balance of teams will be filled in according to points accumulated in the three-race Flirter Round
§  The first tiebreaker is number of wins in the current round
§  Second tiebreaker is number of wins during the entire Chase
§  Third tiebreaker is number of wins during the regular season
§  Fourth tiebreaker is number of points during the regular season
§  Fifth tiebreaker is whoever got their first win first

So, 2 teams will be knocked out after the next 3 races.  Wins are still important.  The 2 rookies are starting at the bottom as we begin the Chase, but at least they are in and have a chance.

Welcome to the Chase to you lucky bastards!  Good luck to all!

Cheers!

Darlington Official Results

Hola Mofos!  I wanted to post this for you since we are down to the last race on Saturday and I'm not sure when I will be able to do the recap this week.

The results stood:

Locked IN: Piston, Graziano, Shepard, Rusty, Beef, Chonk and #Wifey.

On the Bubble:  Dust +24, Ideal +7, Wheels -9, Skidmarks -35 (2 wins, so he'll most likely need a win to get in), Kiss -43 still has a mathematical chance, but it's probably over for him this year.

Need a Win in Richmond: Skidmarks -35 (so he could still get lucky and qualify on points, but would need multiple miracles), Penguin

Eliminated: Empty and Pursuit

It looks to me like Dust, Ideal, Wheels, and #Wifey will be battling it out for the final 2 spots.  Should be an interesting race in Richmond on Saturday night.

Hey Skid, let's get that 3rd win!

Good Luck to all!

Cheers!

Michigan Results - Larson Locks Chonk in the Chase!!! What about the rest of you???

Well lookey here... as guaranteed we had a winner this week.  Congrats to Chonk for locking in!  He now joins Rusty and #Wifey as guaranteed teams in the Chase.  But wait there's more... I can tell you that Piston and Graziano have locked in as well.  They are both more than 90 points away from 9th, so even if they finish last or DQ in the last 2 races they are in... Congrats fellas!

Race Summary:  Chonk won and picked up 2 huge spots in doing so.  Rusty and Beef each drop a spot in the Elite 8 and the rest of us pretty much stayed the same.

THROUGH THE FIELD:

LOCKED IN -CHASE HEALTH

 Piston - 1st - Looking good to finish 1 or 2
Graziano - 2nd - Looking good to finish 1 or 2
Chonk - 4th - Could catch 3rd, but will be fighting Rusty and Beef for 4th - 6th in Darlington
Rusty - 5th - Needs to stop the slide, but is in the fight for 4th-6th with Chonk and Beef
#Wifey - 10th - Could get back in the Elite 8, but will need 2 solid weeks and some luck.

ELITE 8 - CHASE HEALTH

Shepard - 3rd - Looking to lock in this week... could catch 2nd and will want to fend of those 4th-6th cars.
Beef - 6th - Needs to stay solid - 37 points ahead of 9th.  Could climb up a couple of spots.
Ideal - 7th - Needs to stay solid - 28 points ahead of 9th.  A solid week this week could decide if he will grab a higher qualifying spot or just try to hang on.  A win could potentially accomplish both.

ELITE 8 - CHASE HEALTH

Dust - 8th - Needs 2 more solid weeks - 15 points clear of 9th

OUTSIDE LOOKING IN - CHASE HEALTH

Wheels - 9th - Gained 3 points this week but needs 15 more - Stay solid and get a little luck - Must qualify on points if her Rookie Season will include a Championship run
Kiss - 11th - 29 points away - Will need some luck or win the next 2 races.

OUTSIDE LOOKING IN - CHASE HEALTH

Penguin - 12th - Needs 1 win
Skid - 13th - Needs 1 Win
Empty - 14th - Needs 2 wins
Pursuit - 15th - Needs 2 wins

OTHER RAMBLINGS:

Darlington this week on Sunday

Did I mention there are just 2 races left???
