Homestead in the Books - 2015 Champion Skidmarks is Crowned!!!

A final 2015 howdy to all Race Fans!  I hope everyone had a nice and safe Thanksgiving.  Thanks for letting me be commissioner again for a 3rd year and thanks for a wonderful and exciting 2015 NASCAR Fantassy League Season!

Race Recap - WOW!

Holy Shit!  What a final race!  Do you guys agree???  Skid took Hamlin who had a fluid leak, had to go to the garage and went 3 laps down and was 43rd for a while during the race... Rusty took Kahne who cut a tire and was 42nd at one point in this race and at least 1 lap down.  Kiss took Newman who was slow and steady all race.  Kiss's erection was not slow and steady I am sure*.

*not sure, but can only imagine the perfect storm of excitement that was brewing at the Kiss the Wall household as they watched these unlikely events unfold.

Could it actually happen???  I even told Kiss prior to the race that he was a long shot, but I've seen strange things happen in this league.  Why couldn't strange things happen in the final race???

They did.

Hamlin has a fluid leak and goes to the garage... Rusty finds himself in 1st, Kiss 2nd, and Skid 3 laps down in the garage and now from 1st to 3rd in a matter of minutes.  In the garage and only lost 3 laps... how the f*ck does that happen.  My guy would have been 30 laps down minimum.  Fast forward to lap 40 something... Bam! Kahne cuts a tire and hits the wall!!!  Are you kidding me???  Rusty's erection slams into the wall as well... he goes from 1st to 3rd.  Skid moves up to 2nd, and you guessed it... Kiss takes the lead!!!  Holy Shit is right!!!  Could it actually happen???

It didn't happen.

Hamlin raced and Lucky Dogged his ass all the way back on the lead lap to finish 10th!  Kahne took the wave around and steadily worked his way up to a 19th place finish, and Newman had a good run but finished 16th in the end.  Nascar has it right in my opinion.  Kyle Busch had to win the race to get the title over Harvick, Truex and Gordon.  Our League has it right as well... 3 teams battle over the final 2 races with each team having a shot on the final day.

We Have a Winner!  Congratulations to Skidmarks, our 2015 NASCAR Fantassy League Champion!!!!!:

Skidmarks was our most consistent leader all year and had the most quality drivers left in the end which helped him secure his 3rd Championship.  Wow!  From those of us who are still aspiring for our 1st Championship, let me say - that is amazing and a job well done!  Skid never dropped below 6th all year and only spent 3 weeks all fng year out of a money spot.  He spent 8 weeks (22%) in the #1 spot... including, most importantly, the final 4 weeks.  Any questions on who was the best this year?

Skid will be eating 1700 chips!

Rusty was solid as well posting some impressive stats.  He was 10 weeks out of the money all year, but get this... 4 of which were during the Chase.  5 weeks at #1, none at #1 during the Chase.  15 weeks in the #3 spot... 10 in a row at one point!  The final 3 weeks were in the 2nd spot... which is nice.  A nice 2nd place finish for our 2006 Champ (I was co-owner of that team, but made almost 0 decisions)!

Rusty will be eating 750 chips!

Kiss was another worthy challenger.  Our 2010 Champ gets a nice 3rd place finish!  Kiss had the most wins of anyone this year with 6.  He also spent 8 weeks at #1, but 6 of which were in the early rounds of the Chase!  Maybe he used up all of his stuff trying to get to the Finisher Round, but hey... he's eating chips this Holiday Season and 12 of us aren't.  He spent 22 weeks out of a money spot, but made it to the Chase in one of the qualifying spots which secured him the most Bonus Points to start his Chase run.  During the Chase he never dropped out of a money spot!  Congrats Kiss on a solid year!

Kiss will be eating 350 chips!

Final Ramblings:

I hope to see everyone back again in 2016... we have plenty of room to grow, so keep inviting people to join us.  The more the merrier... plus more chips to eat.

Thanks again for another great season!

The Laviolette family wishes you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a happy and safe Holiday Season!

Cheers!

Phoenix Results - First Nut is Busted and Skidmarks Takes the lead!!!

Howdy race fans!  Well we are one Finisher Race down and one to go and it is a tight race for all the marbles.  Skid took hands down race favorite Harvick who finished 2nd only due to the rain shortened race... I assume that anyway.  Kurt Busch rebounded nicely from jumping the start at the beginning of the race and was definitely moving to the front... WTF was he thinking???  So many laps to race... why do that at the start???  Rusty  must be wondering the same thing as he chose Busch who finished in  7th place.  Kiss took Kahne who finished 26th unfortunately.

So where does that leave us?  Skid takes the lead and has a 4 point cushion on Rusty and 29 clear of Kiss.  Kiss needs a ton of help to improve his chip position, but at least he will be eating chips... Rusty is only 4 back, but not many options for top drivers to start.  Skid has the lead and a couple of more options for his Homestead starter.

Some final race observations:

Skid's potential Drivers - Truex, Hamlin, McMurray, Menard, Almirola, Biffle

Rusty's potential Drivers - McMurray, Menard, Almirola, Kahne, Biffle

Kiss's potential Drivers - Newman, Menard, Bowyer, Almirola, Larson

So there's potential for a few common picks...

Skid has the highest quality of drivers left to pick...

All 3 places could shuffle in Homestead...

Skill has gotten you guys here and a little luck too... what will win you the title this year?  A top driver pick who should finish well in Homestead or a Hail Mary wild card pick with a little luck???

Good luck or skill you lucky skillful mfers!!!!

Cheers!

Texas Results - Fluffer Round Complete - On to the Finisher!!!

Hey Guys!!!!

Texas was our final round of the Fluffer and our top 3 going in to Texas held on to advance to the Nut Buster or Finisher Round.  Rusty took over 2nd with his Johnson pick who not only guaranteed he'll be eating chips at the end of this thing, but also earned him 3 more Bonus Points to start the Finisher.  Good job Rusty!  Skid was already locked in and took 4th place finisher Kyle Busch and Kiss coasted into the final round with his 19th Biffle pick.  Congratulations to our 2015 Finisher Round Teams!!!

We have to say goodbye to defending champ* Beef (Truex 8th) and Graziano (Logano 40th) who were definitely going for the win, but came up short this year.  Applause to you guys for a great run at the title!!

So here we go the Finisher Round and on to Phoenix.  Rusty, with his 2 Fluffer wins and 6 Bonus Points, will be our top seed for the Final Round.  Skid 2nd with his 1 Fluffer win and 3 Bonus Points, and Kiss round out the Final 3 Finishers.

Here's what the opening Grid looks like:

As I said, Phoenix this week.

Do you have the right drivers left?

I can't wait to see how it all plays out...

Good luck fellas!

Cheers!

Rules Refresher:

·        Fourth round - (races 35 & 36) - “The Finisher”
o   The three teams entering the Finisher Round will have their points reset to 2000
o   Three bonus points for each win in the previous Fluffer round will be awarded
o   Wins in the Finisher round are worth 3 extra points which will be added to their final total at the end of that round
o   The team with the most points after races 35 and 36 is the NASCAR Fantassy Cup winner
o   Same format for tiebreakers applies
o   Please note that the NSCS modifies their points system for their final race; our NFCL will award whatever points that are posted in the official race results on NASCAR.com

TieBreaker Scenarios:

§  The first tiebreaker is number of wins in the current round
§  Second tiebreaker is number of wins during the entire Chase
§  Third tiebreaker is number of wins during the regular season
§  Fourth tiebreaker is number of points during the regular season
§  Fifth tiebreaker is whoever got their first win first

Martinsville Results - Gordon Wins for Skid and Rusty!!!

Race 1 of 2 of the Fluffer Round is in the books and 2 teams are sleeping more sound than the other 3.  Man it was good to see Gordon get that win!  You just knew some crazy sh*t was going to go down, but it was still shocking the way it all played out.  Logano was going to win this race for sure right?  He's been so strong during the Chase that you just know his title hopes are not done.  Gifting Gordon a win and a shot to win it all in his last season before moving to the announcer booth... to me was just a Bonus.  I understand what Kenseth did and why, but it's still a dick move.  No one should be more pissed at Kenseth than Graz... but we'll get to that... Now.

Skid and Rusty took race winner Jeff Gordon.  Skid is locked into the Finisher Round which starts in Phoenix after this week's Texas Race.  Rusty is in great shape to move on, but it is not guaranteed.  They will get at least 3 Bonus Points to start the Finisher if/when they move on.

Kiss and Beef took 2nd place car Jamie McMurray.  Kiss drops to 2nd and has a 40 point cushion on 4th place.  Beef is tied for 4th and will need a win most likely if he has any chance to move on and defend his title*.

Graz shit the bed with his collateral damage car of Kurt Busch getting caught up in the Kenseth Logano love saga... sorry Graz.  Looks like he'll also need a win and some help to move on.

So... some rough, random thoughts on where everyone stands: (May or may not be all encompassing)

Skid is in.

Rusty is in*
  • if 2 of the 3 winless teams Kiss, Graz, Beef do not get wins OR
  • if Graz or Beef win and do not gain 25 points on Rusty

Kiss is in*
  • if he wins in Texas OR
  • if he doesn't win in Texas AND if Graz or Beef do not get a win AND he doesn't lose 40 points to either Graz or Beef.

Beef and Graz are out UNLESS
  • They Win and Kiss doesn't OR
  • They win, Kiss wins AND they crack the top 3 in points (Rusty would have to BSOTW in this scenario)
  • if they gain 40 points on Kiss (They get a top 5 and Kiss shits the bed in this scenario)
Tiebreaker scenarios may come into play if some of the above scenarios play out...

I guess what I'm trying to say is there is a chance for everyone left to make it in, but Graz and Beef need some magic to happen.

I can't wait to see it all play out.  Are we going to see some crazy sh*t?  Beef and Graz will be trying to slam Kiss into the wall I am thinking...

Good luck in Texas!

Cheers!

Talladega Results - On to the Fluffer!!!!!

Hey guys.  I wanted to post the official standings for the last race of the Teaser Round...  I'll do an official update later in the week, but Congrats to Kiss, Skid, Graz, Rusty, and Beef on making it on through to the Fluffer Round!  It was a good run for Ideal and Piston, but we have to say adios to those guys.  Talk to you later in the week.  Cheers!

Notice a change in the points as Skid gets an additional 3 points to start the Fluffer Round for his win in the Teaser Round.

The Field:

So Kiss has been a frontrunner for the entire Chase thus far with Skidmarks right on his heels.  Both teams and Rusty qualified for the Chase on points and wins, while Graz and Beef made it in on wins alone and have clawed their way up the ladder to be sitting in the Fluffer Round with a real chance to take home this Championship.

If no one gets a win, Rusty and Beef will need some serious Poo Poo flying in the sheets from the top 3 teams.  A win and you advance*

Who will move on???  I guess we'll see over the next 2 races.  Congratulations to all 5 of you once again and the best of luck in the Fluffer!

Cheers!

Other Ramblings:

Martinsville on Sunday!

Only 2 races in this round fellas.  Points will be reset to 2000 for the 3 lucky bastards er I mean teams that make it on through + 3 points for any wins over the next 2 races.

Rules Refresher:

The NFCL Chase is a four round format starting at Chicagoland (race 27) and continuing through Homestead (race 36)
·        A win in any round automatically advances that team to the next round (in theory)
·        Wins result in 3 bonus points added to that team’s total to start the next round during the Chase (if that     team qualifies for the next round)
·        Only seven teams will advance after the first round
·        Two teams will be eliminated after the second round
·        Two teams will be eliminated after the third round
·        Only three teams will enter the fourth and final round for the NASCAR Fantassy Cup

            Third round (races 33 & 34) - “The Fluffer”
  •       The top three teams based on points accumulated during races 27-34 will advance to the final round
  •       Wins automatically advance teams; same format for balance of filling in the teams and tiebreakers applies

Kansas Results - 2 Races Down and 1 Teaser Race to Go!!!!

Hola Amigos!  I just got back from a 6 day stay in Vegas... mother %&$#er.  Good thing it was for work, so I had responsibilities.  I just need to find someone to help me get a tattoo removed and I think I may have married a chicken... good times.

Enough about that... let's talk about Kansas.  The standings are tightening up, but only 2 teams swapped positions this week.  Skidmarks is still the only team locked* into the Fluffer Round.  Kiss is still at the front of the pack choosing Truex Jr. (15th).  2nd place car Skid has a solid week taking 9th place Keselowski.  3rd place Graziano and 4th place Rusty had the top pick this week of Hamlin (2nd).  Beef jumps up a spot to 5th with his 3rd place Johnson pick, while Piston drops a spot to 6th with their 17th place Biffle pick.  Ideal has a good week taking Edwards (8th), but he remains in 7th and at the back of the pack.

So where are we????   Other than Skid and his win, every team is at risk in Talladega.  Well... Kiss is in pretty good shape as well... he just needs to remember to submit a pick for Sunday's race.  Technically everyone else is in danger of not moving on...  Remember wins automatically advance the team to the next round granted 5 other teams don't get wins, so just being in the top 5 may not be enough.  14 points separate 5th through 7th, so no one is safe... plus there's a little unpredictable race called Talladega waiting for us in a couple of days.  Looking ahead to the Fluffer Round... the points still accumulate, so you still have to keep that in mind as you make your picks this week.  But 1st things 1st, you need to be one of the top 5 teams at the end of Sunday's race.  Good luck fellas... I can't wait to see it all play out.

Cheers!

Charlotte Results - Race 1 of the Flirter was an Eventful One - Skidmarks Gets a HUGE WIN!!!!!!

Results Summary:

The heat is definitely on Race Fans!  Charlotte had a little of everything... Skid (up a spot to 2nd ) chose Logano who gets the win and locks himself into the Fluffer Round.*

*If all 7 teams get wins he would have to finish in the top 5 and win any necessary tie breakers.

Ideal chose Kenseth who BSOTW'd for him.  Ideal drops 5 spots to 7th.  Our leader Kiss chose Edwards who brought it home in 6th.  3rd Place Graziano took Edwards as well which was good for a 2 spot jump.  Rusty jumps up 2 spots to 4th with his 4th place Hamlin pick.  Piston (5th) and Beef (6th) DOOTW'd with their 20th place Kyle Busch pick.

Other Ramblings:

Kansas this week with Talladega looming to close out the Flirter Round.

Skidmarks is pretty much locked in barring a miracle and Kiss is guaranteed top 5 for at least the next race.  The rest of the spots are up for grabs.  20 points separate 3rd - 6th.  7th is only 17 points away from 5th... the point is you guys need to keep digging.  A win and you're pretty much in... even if you are outside the top 5 in points.

Decisions, Decisions... I wish I were battling with you guys right now.

Good Luck in Kansas this week!

Cheers!

New Hampshire Results - Nobody Locked in After Flirter Race #2

I wanted to post the results real quick so everyone could see where they stand, but tonight will be short.

Nobody is locked in, but some are more comfortable than others.  Nobody is locked out but some are more nervous than others.

Fuel Mileage was the story in the end... hurting Harvick and Kurt Busch.  A blown tire hoses Kyle Busch.

One team drops out of the top 7 (Asleep).  One team moves into the top 7 (Pursuit).

Let's go through the field...

In The GREEN:
  • Staying in 1st is Kiss who had the top pick this week of Logano (3rd). +33
  • Staying in 2nd is Skidmarks who took Edwards (5th). +31
  • Staying in 3rd is Rusty who also took Edwards (5th). +24
  • Ideal moves up another spot this week to 4th; he also took Logano (3rd). +14
  • Dust jumps up 2 huge spots to 5th also taking Logano (3rd). +12
  • Dropping 3 spots this week is Empty who took Kurt Busch (19th) +9
  • Pursuit jumps 2 spots into that coveted 7th place spot taking Edwards (5th). +4

 Outside Looking In:
  • Beef stays in 8th taking Keselowski (12th) who got f*cked by Biffle's spinning tires on that restart.  -4
  • Penguin also took Keselowski and moves up 2 spots to 9th.  -11
  • Piston also in 9th rallies back up 3 spots taking Johnson who rallied back as well to finish 6th.  -11
  • Graziano drops 2 spots to 11th taking DOOTW award winner Harvick (21st).  -15
  • Asleep chose BSOTW pick Kyle Busch (37th) dropping him 6 spots to 12th. -25

Other Ramblings:

Dover this week on Sunday.  1 race to go until the Teaser Round!!!

Every team in the Chase is just 1 win away from locking in*.  The final race in this round could still flip this field as we are still only 54 points difference from 1st to worst.

*unless 6+ other teams get wins, then we go to tie breakers...

Nobody is out, so get or keep your shit together!!!  1 race to go!!!  Can you do it???

Good luck to all!!!

Cheers!!!

Chicagoland Results - Nobody locks into Round 2 - One team is off to a Rough Start!!!!

And we're off!!!  Race 1 of 3 of the Flirter Round was yet another eventful one for our little League.  Hamlin won in Chicago, but nobody picked him.  That doesn't mean nothing happened (Double Negative), but it does mean that no one is locked into Round 2 at the moment.  The grid above highlights who would move on if the Flirter Round ended today.  NOTE: No team outside the top 8 of the regular season (those who didn't earn any Bonus Points) would have moved on... but we have 2 more races.

Let's go through the field:

In The GREEN:
  • Staying in 1st is Kiss who took Johnson (11th). +25
  • Staying in 2nd is Skidmarks who took Keselowski (8th). +24
  • Moving up a spot to 3rd is Rusty who took Kyle Busch (9th). +17
  • Also in 3rd is Empty who moves up 2 spots to 3rd with his Top Pick of Logano (6th) +17
  • Ideal moves up a spot to 5th with his Truex Jr pick (13th). +6
  • Asleep also chose Johnson (11th) which jumps him up 2 spots to 6th. +5
  • Dust holds on to the final top 7 spot with his Gordon pick (14th). +4

 Outside Looking In:

  • Beef jumps up a spot to 8th.  He also had the top pick of Logano but even that wasn't enough to overcome having to start the Chase with 0 Bonus Points.  -4
  • Graziano stays in 9th and also took Keselowski.  -7
  • Pursuit stays in 9th and also took Keselowski.  -7
  • Penguin also took Truex Jr. but falls to 11th.  -11
  • Piston drops 9 spots with his BSOTW Harvick pick (42nd).  -16

Other Ramblings:

New Hampshire this week on Sunday.  2 races to go until the Teaser Round!!!

Every team in the Chase is just 1 win away from locking in*.  1 race could flip this field as we are still only 37 points difference from 1st to worst.

*unless 6+ other teams get wins, then we go to tie breakers...

Nobody is out, so get or keep your shit together!!!  2 races to go!!!  Can you do it???

Good luck to all!!!

Richmond Results - Chase Preview - Holy Toledo race fans!!!!

Holy Toledo race fans!!!! (A shout out to the long time legendary Houston Astros Broadcaster Milo Hamilton who passed today.)

Richmond was the final race before the Chase and was extremely eventful... I think this is a preview to how our fight for the championship will go this year.  We had some major shuffling at the top... we had 2 teams switch places in and out of Club Ocho Primo (I am sofa king glad I will not be writing Club Ocho Primo any longer).  Let's get to it.

Shout out to 2000 Champion Dust for finishing strong with 4 top 10's plus a win this week  in Richmond to lock himself in the Chase.  Congratulations Dust!

We say goodbye to our 2012 Champion Shepard who threw his Harvick Hail Mary, but came up a little short.  He joins 2014 Champ* Chonk and 2013 Champ Rasta.

So that means our lineup is set to go for the Chase.

  • 2010 Champion Kiss finished the regular season jumping up 2 spots to 3rd, and had 6 wins.  He will start the Chase as the top seed.
  • 2-Time Champion (2005 and 2011) Skidmarks jumped up 1 spot to a tie for 1st (he and Piston will split the 1 and 2 Bonus Points) and secures the 2nd seed.
  • Piston made it all the way back to the top in the final regular season race at Richmond, but with only 2 wins they will start the Chase as the 3rd seed.
  • 2006 Champion Rusty falls a spot to 4th at the finish the regular season and is our 4th seed.
  • Empty free falls 4 huge spots to 5th and will be our 5th seed.
  • Ideal finishes in 7th, but jumps over Dust to be our 6th seed as he has 1 more win.
  • 2000 Champion Dust has some nice momentum heading in the Chase and will be our 7th seed.
  • Asleep climbed up 1 extremely valuable spot to take away 8th from Graziano... he is our 8th seed and grabs 11 Bonus points that he would not have had otherwise.
  • Wild Card teams  will start with 1000 points... they are:  Graziano, 2004 and 2014* Champion Beef, 2007 Champion Pursuit, and Penguin.
Congratulations to our 2015 Chasers!!!!!

Let's Recap the 1st Round Rules:
First round (races 27-29) - “The Flirter”
  • The top seven teams based on points accumulated during races 27-29 will advance to the 2nd round
  • Wins automatically advance a team (in theory) and add 3 extra points to that team’s total to start the next round
  • If every team has a win(s), teams will be eliminated according to the tiebreaker rule below
  • The balance of teams will be filled in according to points accumulated in the three-race Flirter Round
    • The first tiebreaker is number of wins in the current round
    • Second tiebreaker is number of wins during the entire Chase
    • Third tiebreaker is number of wins during the regular season
    • Fourth tiebreaker is number of points during the regular season
    • Fifth tiebreaker is whoever got their first win first
Chicago this week on Sunday.

Good Luck to all!!!

Cheers!

Darlington Night Race Results - 1 More Team Locked In... 2 Teams Officially Out!

Our 2nd race till the Chase in Darlington was a busy one for many of our teams.  Some teams are desperate for that elusive win; some teams are scrambling to gain valuable points to keep them in the BONUSABLE Club Ocho Primo; some teams are going full speed into the turn and breaking late trying to gain that last Top 8 spot in Club Ocho Primo; some teams are trying to hold onto their spots and those valuable Bonus Points; and a few teams are just hanging out in the back of the pack waiting on the Chase to start.

So nobody took Edwards who won the race, but that didn't stop Team Piston (up a spot to 4th) from locking themselves in the Chase.  56 Points clear of 9th means they are locked in without getting their 3rd win (yet), but will be getting Bonus points for the 2 wins they have plus points for whichever top 8 position in which they finish.  Congratulations Guys!

Dust had the top pick with Keselowski (2nd) and man did he need it because our 9th place team Asleep took Hamlin who finished 3rd.  Dust jumps up 2 big spots to 6th and is 26 points clear of 9th.  He'll need another solid week or some help from the teams below to lock himself in.  Asleep gains 9 more points on 8th and is just 15 points away from Club Ocho Primo and those valuable Bonus Points.   Great week fellas!

The top 3 (Empty, Skidmarks, and Rusty) remain the same, but they are all within 8 points of each other.

Kiss (5th), Ideal (7th) and Graziano (8th) each drop a spot but remain in the top 8.

Beef and Pursuit and their 4 and 5 wins slip further away from being able to cash in on those valuable Bonus Points.  Penguin is just chillin' at the back of the pack...

Shepard had a strong finish (6th), but still needs a win or he will be eliminated on Saturday night.

I've put it off long enough because it is so hard to do, but we have to say goodbye to last year's Champion* Chonk and 2013 Champion Rasta.  Rasta has been out for a while, but Chonk fought hard to recover this year, but just couldn't recreate the magic he had last year.  I personally will miss his pick submissions... he is responsible for all of the nice girls I share with you guys from time to time.  Maybe he can send me a pick each week anyway.

Please Review the Rules before Chicago:

Darlington Drivers

My dog's nanny thought I was talking about talking about the Darlington Strip... silly girl.  I was talking about the Darlington Stripe... I wonder if she was referring to stripping or her landing strip.  Either way... I'm going to tip her extra this week... that's her below doing our version of the Chase.

Chonk and Shepard may have a stripe in their underwear if Kurt Busch or Matt Kenseth don't pull through for them...   Damn... Kenseth just hit the wall.  Lots of race left to go.. Good luck guys...

Bristol Results - More Shakin' Goin' On!

Our 3rd race before the Chase was another eventful one... The Chase picture remains blurry though.  I know I don't have to keep bringing up that the top 8 will receive Bonus Points for the wins they bring with them into the Chase, plus Bonus Points for where they stand in the top 8... and for the rest of us locked in suckers, we start with a flat 1000 points.  I know this.  But as I see all of the shuffling going on, I would be remiss not to point it out... constantly.

Bristol Recap:

Piston had the top pick this week with Hamlin (3rd).  They have 2 wins and move up a spot to 5th and more importantly 67 points clear of 9th.  This will put them in the GREEN for Chase Health.  Well done guys!

Dust moves into 8th this week and would get those Bonus Points back if he can hang on.  Beef falls out of Club Ocho Primo.  Asleep jumps up 2 spots and sits on the doorstep of the Club.  Dont look now but Chonk is only 47 points away from 8th... still needs 2 wins though I think.

OTHER RAMBLINGS:

Darlington next weekend on Sunday another night race.  It's Labor Day weekend, so don't forget to submit.

F*ck it, let me try to paint the picture.  For example if the Chase started next weekend, Empty with 3 wins and running 1st would start with 1020 +  9 more points for his 3 wins (3*3 = 9; for you math geniuses) = 1029.

Let's take Beef with his 4 wins and Pursuit with his 5 wins, who are running 9th and 11th respectively.  They get 1000 points to start the Chase.  But if they somehow make up the 24 and 29 points to get into Club Ocho Primo it could mean at least 14 and 17 points for those teams.

This info just makes it harder to choose your strategy as we near the Chase.  Do I save my drivers or go for Club Ocho Primo???

Will Kyle Shepard or Chonk Busch make it????    Sorry guys I couldn't resist...

Good Luck and have a safe and fun Holiday Weekend!!!

Cheers!!!

Michigan Results - Kenseth Dominates 2 Teams Lock IN

Kenseth dominated the Michigan race, with only Austin Dillon giving him any real fight for a few laps.  3 lucky team's plan came together perfectly as the Pole winner actually finished where he started.  Ideal (5th) and Graziano (7th) are now locked in.  Pursuit, who spent 15 weeks in 14th or 15th (6 weeks in 15th), now has 5 wins and runs in 10th just 26 points away from Club Ocho Primo.  He will be tough if he can get into Club Ocho Primo.

Look who's back on top!  Empty's Austin Dillon (4th) pick is good enough to end Skidmark's 3 race run at the front of the pack.  Kiss and his 6 wins took Dillon as well and moves to 2nd.  Those Bonus Points will be tough to deal with come Chase time.

Skid gets the DOOTW with his 15th place Kahne pick and Rusty gets the BSOTW award for picking Stewart.  Stewart shits himself 2 weeks in a row.

The rest of us were top 10.

Not Locked In Summary:

Team Piston (6th with 2 wins) has a solid week (Hamlin 5th).  Piston can get in with 3 more solid weeks or 1 more win.  They are 39 points clear of 9th, so they have a little cushion for at least another race.

Dust (9th with 1 win) took Michigan stud Dale Jr. (10th).  Dust loses ground in Michigan but 12 points is nothing to make up.  Let's see if he can do it.

Shepard (13th with 2 wins) also loses a little ground and is now 44 points out of Club Ocho Primo.  Needing to jump 5 teams with 3 races to go, should make his strategy pretty simple.  Get that last win or bust.

Chonk (14th with 1 win).  Our defending Champ* has been driving the wheels off of his rig trying get those 2 wins, but it just might not be in the cards for him this year.  2 wins with 3 to go... it's possible, but not probable.

Rasta is almost officially eliminated...
