Daytona Results

This race is exactly why I stole the "9 Months of Frustration" phrase from Scott for this year's site...

The bad news: 10 teams earned less than 10 points.

The good news: there are 35 races left.

Some housekeeping items:  Get your chips in fellas.  Also, look at the "Welcome Race Fans!!!" post for updated prize info with 16 teams in the league this year.

Welcome Race Fans!!!

The 2013 NASCAR season is just around the corner and the league is still going strong.  Lots of questions are out there for the new season... Will Keselowski be the driver to beat?  Can Johnson get it done again?  Will Hamlin ever finish on top?

Who am I kidding with these questions???  Without this league, I wouldn't know who the f Brad Keselowski is.  Not that I am not a fan; I just do not know that much about racing, cars in general, rebel flags, and optional bathing... but I enjoy going to and watching the races, and I love this league.  And since I am the new commissioner for 2013, I wanted to say hi, thank Scott for doing such an awesome job as commish for the last 6 years, and welcome everyone to the 2013 NASCAR season.

Everyone from last year has committed to return... Awesome!!!  In addition, so far we have 2 potential new recruits and possibly more coming which puts the number of teams between 14-16 right now.  I have also sent out an email to some of the teams that were part of the league in the past to check interest, so who knows.  More competition = more prizes so let's hope the old teams come back and some new teams join.

The site this year is http://9monthsoffrustration.blogspot.com/ and below are the rules for 2013.  Obviously, the prize distribution will change if we get more teams to join.  You will also see a couple changes from last year... this year there will be a prize for 3rd place, more chips for winning the Chase, nothing for last place, no 43 action, and no 35 action.  I personally liked the side action, but there will be less of a chance for me to mess it up this way.

Please let me know if you have any question or comments.

Prize Distribution:
# of teams: 16

The commissioner's fee is waived.

Let's do some math, with 16 teams:
(200 * 16) - 200 = 3000 chips

It breaks down like this:
1st place: 1600 chips
2nd place: 800 chips
3rd place: 350 chips
Chase bonus (HIGHEST number of points for the last 10 races): 250 chips

Here are the rules:
1. Each week, pick a driver

2. You can't pick the same driver more than twice in a season

3. Your selection must be emailed to me at larry.laviolette@gmail.com or called/texted in at 210.862.2976 before the SCHEDULED green flag. If you do not call in your pick in time, you get a big fat 0 points, and a DQ. Also, if you're a jackass and start the same driver more than twice, another big fat 0 for you, and a DQ. Also, let's say your traveling....and you don't have access to email, or you don't have my cell number, then call one of your raycin cronies and have them email or call me. Just like the previous commissioner, I will NOT be tracking down pix prior to race time.

4. If NASCAR takes away points from a driver due to an infraction that affected the car's performance, that any team that started that driver will have the same points deducted from his driver. If NASCAR takes away point to a driver due to an infraction that did NOT affect the car's performance (e.g. cursing, bumping another driver in the pit, etc), any team that started that driver will NOT have points deducted.

5. Total points will be the same as total points awarded as the sprint cup point system.

6. At the end of the season, whoever has the most points wins the amounts posted above.

7. The chase bonus only applies to whichever team has the MOST points during the last 10 races of the season and doesn't have 2 or more DQs.

8. Rules committee members are there to answer any questions you have.

9. All future communications will be handled through this site: http://9monthsoffrustration.blogspot.com/

10. The commissioner will submit his pick to Scott Goodman each week.

boogidee boogidee boogidee, let's go raycin' boys (and girl)!!!
