Indianapolis Results - Kyle Busch wins the Brickyard 400 - Beef Gets 1st Win!!!!

Hola Amigos!

In my opinion (although I believe it is shared by many) NASCAR had a pretty boring race in Indy.  I wish I had a Kyle Busch pick left and a time machine or crystal ball.  But that doesn't mean our little League didn't have action.

Beef had our Top Pick this week.  He took race winner Kyle Busch who made it look easy at the Brickyard.  Beef gets his 1st win, but more importantly jumps up 3 spots to 5th.  Impressive when you consider that just 5 races ago he was in 12th place.  With 6 races to go and only 1 win, Beef will want to continue rock starring his picks in order to cement himself in the Elite 8 or grab 2 more wins to lock himself into the Chase.   CHASE HEALTH  Congratulations Beef!

TOP 10:

Penguin took 4th place finisher Hamlin.  Penguin jumps up 1 spot to 12th and sits 17 points away from the Elite 8.  With 2 wins and 6 races to go I have options to get into the Chase, but I wish I had that 3rd win right about now.    CHASE HEALTH

Piston, Skidmarks, and Pursuit took Larson (5th).
Team Piston is starting to look like Indy Kyle Busch as their lead is getting larger.  They are now 27 points ahead of 2nd place.  CHASE HEALTH
Skid jumps up 2 spots to 10th and is just 10 points away from the Elite 8 with 2 wins.
CHASE HEALTH
Pursuit picks up a little ground but is still in 15th and 89 points out of the Elite 8.  It's not looking good right now, but a win this week in Pocono will change things up for Pursuit.  CHASE HEALTH

Shepard and Chonk took Harvick (6th).
Shepard jumps up a spot to 4th and with no wins, he'll need to keep up the good work over the last 6 races before the Chase.  CHASE HEALTH
Chonk moves up a spot to 9th and is just 5 points out of the Elite 8 with 2 wins; thus giving him multiple options to get into the postseason.  CHASE HEALTH

Nice Job Fellas!

EH...:

#Wifey and Kiss took Stewart (11th).
#Wifey drops a spot to 8th, but he's already in the Chase.  He'll need to keep fighting for those Bonus Points, but has a lot less pressure than most of us.  CHASE HEALTH
Kiss stays in 14th and 63 points away from the Elite 8 with only 1 win.  He's in a similar position as Pursuit; a win next week would give him more hope as he fights to make the Chase.
CHASE HEALTH

Empty took Gordon who finished 13th.  Empty stays in 11th and sits 15 points out of the Elite 8 with 1 win.  His mission is clear over the last 6.  CHASE HEALTH

DOOTW:

Wheels took Keselowski who was one of 3 drivers to lead laps in Indy.  His team was on a fuel mileage strategy that may have paid off, but an Edwards mistake late in the race ruined his chances and he finished 17th.  Wheels stays in 6th with 0 wins.  There have been much worse Dutch Ovens than a 17th place finish...  CHASE HEALTH

BSOTW:

Our most popular pick this week was yet another BSOTW!  This has really been unbelievable right?
Newman finished 31st.
Rusty (2nd) is locked in, but is losing ground on Piston.  CHASE HEALTH
Graziano (3rd) and has 0 wins.  CHASE HEALTH
Ideal drops 2 spots to 6th and has 2 wins.  CHASE HEALTH
Dust drops 4 spots to 13th and now 29 spots out of the Elite 8 with 1 win. CHASE HEALTH

Tough luck this week guys.

OTHER RAMBLINGS:

Pocono this week on Sunday.

If you look at the Elite 8 drivers you'll see some interesting trends.  Piston, Rusty, Shepard have been hanging out at the top all season.  Graziano fell as low as 11th early but made a quick climb to the top of the standings.  Graz has only been out of the Elite 8 for only 3 races this season.  While Ideal has gone in and out of the Elite a couple of times, he has been solid at the top... just a little stumble this week.  Check out Wheel's line... a strong run early at the top, then a free fall to 10th for 4 weeks.  But a nice rebound and she's back in the Elite 8 for 4 weeks now.  #Wifey has bounced up and down the leader board, but his 3 wins are what matters as he clings to a spot in the Elite 8.  Beef's line is even more compelling as he has spent 9 weeks this season in 11th or 12th.  Now in just 2 races he not only broke back into the Elite 8... he now sits in 5th.  His highest mark since week 2 where he was in 3rd.

Good luck in Pocono this week!

Cheers!

New Hampshire Results - Kenseth Gets the Win - but Nobody Kept Him as Their Pick... That Doesn't Mean There Wasn't any Carnage!!!

Cover your eyes if you don't like profanity, because FUUUUUUUUUUU******KKKKKKK!

Okay... that felt better.

New Hampshire was full of excitement for some and agony for others... you can guess which side the Fat Penguin falls.  Kenseth won... somebody picked him but then changed their pick before the green flag... that sucks, but I can tell you that at least they didn't pick Elliott.

We'll see Gordon this week in Indy, so check out the other ramblings section for how that will be scored if you pick him...

Empty had our TOP PICK of Logano (3rd).  Empty jumps up 2 spots to 11th and is only 12 points away from the Elite 8.  With only 1 win, he'll need to grab 2 wins in the last 7 races or gain those 12 points to qualify for the Chase.  Nice Job Empty keep the momentum going!

Other TOP 10 Studs were Kiss with his 4th place Harvick pick.  Kiss gains 14 points on 8th but is still 62 points out with 1 win.  It is definitely doable, but he'll have to keep rolling.  Graziano and Beef took 9th place finisher Hamlin.  A solid pick this week for sure.  Graziano stays in 3rd but gained 17 points and is now only 10 points away from those top 2 teams.  Beef (8th) bounds up 3 spots to bust into the Elite 8.  In a week full of carnage, you have to love these picks this week... well done guys!

Wheels' EH... pick was kind of a top pick as she moves up 2 spots to 6th with her 12th place Jimmie Johnson pick.  While Skidmarks' 15th place Keselowski pick leaves him in 12th and gains him 4 points on 8th.  Any gained points are good, and you could have done much worse this week for sure.

Dust chose Edwards who finished 20th.  Dust stays in 9th and shares the DOOTW with Piston and Rusty who chose 25th place finisher Kahne.  Piston and Rusty stay in 1st and 2nd, but lose a little of their breathing room to those of us who didn't pick Chase Elliott.

That brings us to the BSOTW and most popular pick this week.  Chase was driving a fantastic race until the late restart where Truex couldn't get going and caused him to get a tire rub that ended what could have been a great race in a very shitty manner.  Ideal and Shepard stay in 4th and 5th, #Wifey drops a spot to 7th, Chonk and Penguin drop 3 spots to 10th and 13th, and Pursuit stays in 15th.  Damn it!

OTHER RAMBLINGS:

Who's looking forward to putting New Hampshire behind them???

7 Races left before the Chase!

Indy this week on Sunday!

So Jeff Gordon will fill in for Dale Jr. this week.  What happens if you pick him???  Our geniuses in the rules committee have covered this scenario under section 5 of our League rules:

5)     Total points awarded for each race will be the same as points awarded by the NSCS point system appearing in the official race results on NASCAR.com
a)      If you choose a driver who is ineligible for NSCS points (e.g., an Xfinity Series driver racing in a NSCS race, or a road racing specialist who isn’t a full time NSCS driver, etc.) and NASCAR.com shows that driver receiving zero NSCS points after the race, we will award the points typically awarded for that finishing position
i)       Note: Because of our league format, we want to encourage use of all drivers for each NSCS race; the NFCL wants to reward owners who take risks and use their racing knowledge to their benefit
ii)     If a driver who is not eligible for NSCS points leads a lap or leads the most laps in the race, he/she is not eligible for NSCS bonus points nor will he/she receive NFCL bonus points; only the points typically awarded for their finishing position

We have 7 races to go until the Chase and nobody is out yet.  Some of us need a bunch of help, but I think it's time to panic if you aren't already locked in.

Good luck in Indy!

Cheers!

Kentucky Results - Keselowski Wins Again but Nobody Picked Him... Only 3 Spots Change Hands This Week!!!!

Slam your nads in the patio door if you thought of picking Keselowski for Kentucky and didn't... Ouch!  You have just got to love fuel mileage races... I would have loved to see how it would have played out with Harvick, Kyle Busch, Kenseth and Truex if they weren't saving fuel.

Ideal almost stole a win with his TOP PICK Edwards (2nd).  Keselowski somehow pissed a little gas in his tank to get him past Edwards on the final lap after Edwards flew by him to seemingly take home the checkered flag... This would have locked Ideal into the Chase, but it wasn't meant to be this week.  Ideal still moves up to 4th gaining back one of the spots he lost last week.  Good Job Ideal!

The other TOP 10 picks were Ryan "From Where the F*ck Did He Come" Newman who finished 3rd for Rusty (2nd) and Graziano (up 1 spot to 3rd).  Kenseth (8th) ran well for Piston (1st) and Wheels (8th).  And Harvick finished 9th for Beef (11th) and Empty (13th).  Well done guys and gal!

The most popular pick and Vegas favorite Kyle Busch finished 12th... EH...  Chonk, Dust, Penguin, Skid, and Pursuit... all teams hold their position so it's not too bad.

Hamlin (15th) and Dillon (16th) give the DOOTW to Kiss (14th) and #Wifey (6th).  Not a bad DOOTW if you ask me.

Shepard drops 2 spots to 5th with his BSOTW pick of Kyle Larson... Fng Fuel Mileage Races...

OTHER RAMBLINGS:

New Hampshire this Sunday!  Let's get back to normal... whatever the heck that means...

Cheers!

Daytona Results - Keselowski Wins - #Wifey Locks in!

***Sorry Guys, for some reason this didn't Publish when I did it on Wednesday...***

Hey there race fans!  I'm on vacation this week so we'll make this short and sweet...

You should have picked Keselowski, but only #Wifey (6th Place) was smart enough to do that...  He locks his rookie ass into the Chase with that genius pick.  Congrats #Wifey!!!

Stenhouse, Dillon, and Biffle were good picks as well.  You either stayed where you were or moved up a spot if you were smart enough to pick one of these a-holes.

Hamlin was an okay pick for Wheels but bad for Skidmarks... Eh...

Dale Jr. DOOTW'd Ideal and Fat Penguin... Ideal drops 2 spots and Penguin 3 spots.  Dale Jr. was the Vegas f*cking favorite BTW.   Rusty tried to warn me it was a sucker pick... dick.

Kenseth hosed Kiss... for the BSOTW.  Kiss's struggles continue.

OTHER RAMBLINGS:

Kentucky this week on Saturday... get your picks in.

I am going to pick the winner on Saturday, so maybe I will let you know when you submit your picks if you are going to win the race as well...  In reality I'm looking forward to a nice top 29 finish this Saturday

Cheers!
