Auto Club 400 Results

We have another new leader folks and it just happens to be our old commissioner Rusty Truck.  Nice job with the winner Kyle Busch pick by Rusty and Rasta.  A large group picked Biffle and Kenseth who both earned 38 points while Johnson and Harvick each earned 32 points.  Logano wrecked and hospitalized Hamlin in a clear retaliation move, but Hamlin is kept from being the bed shitter o' the week two weeks in a row by Bowyer's blown engine.  Don't look now, but defending champion Shepard has now moved into 3rd place...

Is it just me or was this a cool race?

Bristol Results

Leave it to Kyle Busch to ruin a perfectly good theory... the most popular driver selected finally came through this week with a nice 2nd place finish.

75% of the league finished in the top three making it hard to make up any ground but easy to lose it:

• 3 teams chose race winner Kahne 
• 5 chose 2nd place McBusch
• 4 chose 3rd place Keselowski
• 2 chose Vickers who had a nice 8th place finish... I'd take a top 10 from Vickers all day long.

Hamlin wrecked Logano who was running really well at the time... pissing Logano off and I'm sure Piston Pumpin' as well.  Then Kharma took over and Hamlin was the bed shitter of the week with a 23rd place finish.  

Skidmarks is the new league leader with Kiss the Wall moving into second just ahead of ex-commish Rusty Truck... Good luck with that gentlemen.

IRISH I Were Drunk

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!  All picks are in this week... even from the slopes in the northeast (Shepard) and south of the border in Mexico (Running on Empty).  Looks like Kyle McBusch (Thanks Doc Beef) is the most popular pick for today's race.  Let's see if the trend will continue.  Good luck teams... especially Fat Penguin.  Cheers!

The Hangover

It was a good race in Vegas with plenty of competition and lot's of passing... giving us a little hope for the Gen-6 car.  I'm hoping this is a sign of things to come...  

There were many strong cars on Sunday and a good points day for many teams... no offense Ideal.  :)  Fortunately, it is a very long season, so I'm hoping my buddy Courtney can rally Ideal Racing back into the competition.  Plus there is always the Chase, so no more DQs dude. 

 

Piston Pumpin' was the biggest mover jumping up 5 spots with their Kenseth pick... they are knocking on the door of the Top 5 which did not change other than yours truly taking the top spot by two points over Skidmarks.  There was no runaway favorite driver this week (Kyle Busch and Edwards each had 3 teams pick them), so my theory about the hottest pick of the week crapping the bed still remains valid.  Kyle, Edwards, Johnson, and Truex Jr. had top 10 finishes with Stewart finishing just outside the top 10 in 11th.  Martin 14th, Biffle 17th, and Bowyer in 27th to round out the picks.

Two weeks in a row the most popular pick by the league did not live up to expectations.  Is this going to be the trend this year?

Enjoy the race!  I'll try to post the drivers next week during the race, but I'll be doing a little kitesurfing in the Gulf of Mexico... speaking of old guys ruling.
