Homestead Results - Beef is 3 Time Champion!!!!!

Final Standings:

Race Recap:

Our final race in Homestead saw our 3 finalists separated by 5 points, but with so little drivers from which to choose it must have felt like miles for Rusty.  The good thing for Rusty is Blaney shit the bed early.  Blaney kept fighting and ultimately finished 26th, but it would not be enough.  Things were a little more brutal for Chonk...  Newman held his lead over McMurray for the entire race and Chonk would be Champion, right?  Wrong.  A controversial caution put Edwards in a do or die situation and we all know what happened next... carnage.  Newman is swept up in the fray and finished 25th.  While Johnson was celebrating his place in history, if you looked at the bottom corner of your screen you could see McMurray and Beef doing burnouts as well.  McMurray held steady all race and came home 5th giving Beef his 3rd Championship.  Congratulations to Beef our 2016 NASCAR Fantassy League Champion!!!!!

Stats:

Check out the Final 3 contender's roads to the Finals and check out Beef's rise to the top!  That gives A-Holes like me hope for next season for sure.

Beef did it with only 1 win, but his average finish for the entire season was 13th which is the best in our league.  Chonk and Piston also averaged 13th.  Rusty, Wheels, Shepard, and Graziano averaged 14th place finishes.  It just goes to show you that many strategies can get you to the end, but you pretty much have to hold on to your ass when you get there... and Beef's solid steady ascent to the top proof that wins are great, but not everything when it comes to winning this thing.

3 TIME:

FINAL RAMBLINGS:

It's just 3 short months until Daytona!!!

I'll send out a note to remind everyone and see who's IN for 2017.  Let's get more people for next year!  The more the merrier!

Cheers!

Phoenix Results - Chonk Takes the Lead!!! 1 to Go!!!!

Hola Amigos!  Race 1 of the Nut Buster or Finisher Round is in the books and that means that we head to Homestead on Sunday to figure out who will take home the 2016 NASCAR Fantassy Cup Championship!

Phoenix was a tough race and each team is scraping the bottom of the barrel for drivers to choose.  That being said Chonk still had Hamlin (7th), Beef took Blaney (8th) and Rusty still had Keselowski (14th).  So Chonk takes a slim 2 point lead over Beef in 2nd and Rusty is only 5 back because of those 3 big Bonus Points for the Edwards win in the Fluffer Round.

All 3 of our contenders have been here before and have taken home the prize*.  Beef in 2004 and 2014*, Rusty in 2006 and Chonk also in 2014*.  Who will have what it takes to do it this year?

I can probably guess who each team will take, and I know Carl, Joey, Kyle and Jimmie will not decide who will win our League... unless they wreck your pick that is.

Congratulations for making it this far and good luck in Miami this weekend!

Cheers!

Texas Results - Fluffer Round Complete - Bring on the Finisher!!!!

CHASE - FLIRTER to FLUFFER Final Standings

In our last race before TrumpLand was born, we have to say goodbye to Shepard and Ideal.  Congrats on a great season, but unfortunately you guys came up a little short this year.  Ideal needed Dillon to win and Shepard needed Kyle Busch to finish strong and Chase to shit the bed.  That didn't happen and 2 very strong teams' seasons have come to an end.

Rusty took Edwards who won the race.  Rusty will start the Finisher Round with 3 extra Bonus points.  This could be huge as we will now reset the points to 2000 PLUS 3 points for any Fluffer Round Wins!  Chonk and Beef also had a solid race and will join Rusty to determine how we will divide up the "Chips" this year.

CONGRATULATIONS GUYS!!!!!!

FINISHER RULES RECAP:
  • Fourth round - (races 35 & 36) - “The Finisher”
    • The three teams entering the Finisher Round will have their points reset to 2000
    • Three bonus points for each win in the previous Fluffer round will be awarded
    • Wins in the Finisher round are worth 3 extra points which will be added to their final total at the end of that round
    • The team with the most points after races 35 and 36 is the NASCAR Fantassy Cup winner
    • Same format for tiebreakers applies
    • Please note that the NSCS modifies their points system for their final race; our NFCL will award whatever points that are posted in the official race results on NASCAR.com
OTHER RAMBLINGS:

Round 1 of the Finisher begins in Phoenix on Sunday!  Nobody has Harvick left... so it will be interesting for sure.

Can anyone else believe that the 3 members of the Rules Committee are the final mfers standing???

#morecontroversialthanTRUMPgettingelectednothankstoJersey

Does this mean I am the rules committee for the Finisher Round???

#Suckers!!!

Good luck fellas!

Cheers!

Martinsville Results - Johnson Wins! Cubs Win!!! - Race 1 of 2 Fluffer Round Races in the Books - 2 Teams in Trouble!!!!

Hola Amigos!  Well Martinsville was good for the top teams and no so good for the bottom teams, and the bottom teams really needed to shake things up a little as we head into the final Fluffer Round race in Texas.

RACE RECAP:

Rusty (2nd) took Hamlin who tangled with the race winner Johnson for the entire race but came home with a solid 3rd place finish.  Chonk (1st) and Beef (3rd) took Martinsville stud Gordon who brought it home in 6th.  So the top 3 had a great day in Martinsville.  Shepard (4th) and Ideal (5th) gambled on Stewart who never really showed up in Martinsville and finished 26th.

CHASE UPDATE:

As you all know, our Fluffer Round consists of just 2 races and points accumulate through the 1st 8 races.  This puts Shepard and Ideal in a tough position as they now trail 3rd place by 28 and 62 points respectively.  So Shepard could qualify on Points but Ideal needs to win in Texas.

Chonk, Rusty and Beef are in a great position to move on and Chonk and Rusty are pretty much locked in on points.  BUT .... A win by Shepard and/or Ideal could completely turn this Chase on its' head.  That sounds simple* but everyone is limited on the drivers they can choose at this point.  Have Shepard or Ideal saved that perfect driver for Texas?  It will be tough and take some luck for those guys to move on, but stranger things have happened for sure...

OTHER RAMBLINGS:

Good luck to all!

Cheers!!

Talladega & Teaser Results - 5 Teams Prepare for the Fluffer Round - 2 Teams Drop Out!!

We are losing 2 extremely strong teams this round.  Truex shit the bed and slams Piston's Championship run into the wall.  Kyle Busch's 30th place finish when Graziano needed a win ends his Championship hopes as well.  It was a great season and run for these guys, but we'll have to say goodbye to them for now.

Piston's loss is Shepard's gain.  Shepard's Dillon pick was enough to get him by Piston by 10 points.  Chonk, Rusty, Beef, and Ideal hold onto their spots.

ON TO THE FLUFFER:

Congratulations to Chonk, Rusty, Beef, Shepard, and Ideal for making it to the next round!  Chonk and Ideal will get 3 Bonus points each to begin the round because of their wins in the Teaser Round.  Their total above will be adjusted to reflect the Bonus Points when I post the results of the next race.

      FLUFFER RULES REFRESHER:
  • Third round (races 33 & 34) - “The Fluffer”
    • The top three teams based on points accumulated during races 27-34 will advance to the final round
    • Wins automatically advance teams; same format for balance of filling in the teams and tiebreakers applies

OTHER RAMBLINGS:

Martinsville this week on Sunday!

Interesting Chart below.  I think it's interesting to see where our leaders ran all season long... Piston ran at the top all year.  Graz was up there as well.

Good luck to our Final Fabulous Five!

Cheers!

Kansas Results - Another Team Punches His Ticket to the Fluffer Round - 2 Teams Hold Tickets to the Fluffer Round* - Who Will Grab the Remaining 3 Spots???!!!???!!!

Round 2 of the Teaser in Kansas was action packed.  Ideal took Race Winner Harvick and unless 4 or 5 teams pick the next race winner AND finish higher in total point than he does in the top 5... he is locked in the Fluffer Round.  I'll go waaay out on a limb and say he and Chonk now hold 2 of the 5 available Fluffer spots.

So that presents us with an interesting situation.  Ideal now sits in 6th with a win in this round, so he really kind of holds the 2nd spot as he is pretty much guaranteed to move on.  Shepard sits in 5th from a points standings perspective, but since only 5 spots will move on to the Fluffer and Ideal who sits in 6th has a win in the Round... Shepard is really sitting in 6th.  So Shepard and Graziano (7th) are the 2 teams on the outside looking in as we come to the 3rd Teaser Round race.

To make it even more interesting... that 3rd race happens to be in Talladega.  I usually would be saying that Graz and Shepard  must try to find a way to get a win on Sunday to move on but we're going to Talladega.

Let's assume Chonk and Ideal are a lock.  That leaves Piston, Rusty, Beef, Shepard and Graziano left to fight for the last 3 available spots.  2 teams will be left out on Sunday but all 5 teams are vulnerable.  21 points separate Piston, Rusty, Beef, and Shepard and Graziano trails a qualifying spot by 30 points.  If Graziano can't get a win, it's basically 4 teams fighting for 3 spots.  If Graziano can somehow pick the race winner... and I think he may need to do just that... it gets even more interesting.  That means that those same 4 teams will be fighting for 2 spots.

Talladega is a perfect race for some crazy shit to happen.  Some will choose right and some will choose wrong this weekend for sure.  I think Chonk and Ideal are loving life right about now.  The rest of you lucky fools have some work to do to get into the Fluffer.

Good luck fellas!

Cheers!

Charlotte Results - Chonk Chose Race Winner Johnson and Punches His Ticket to the Fluffer!!!!

We had to wait a day for Hurricane Matthew to pass N.C., but Chonk didn't mind.  TOP PICK Johnson dominated the race and locked Chonk into the Fluffer.  With race 1 of 3 of the Teaser Round in the books with Kansas and Talladega (especially Talladega) looming, it must be pretty F-ing nice to have that win under your belt.  He moves up to the top spot which is also huge since points accumulate through the Fluffer Round.  AND he'll get 3 Bonus Points added to his points for the Fluffer.  Congratulations Chonk!!!

Beef and Piston also had TOP 10 picks.  Beef took Kahne who had a solid race and came in 3rd.  Beef moves up to 6th just 1 spot and 5 points away from the top 5.  Piston took Kyle Busch who had an up and down day, but somehow (f*ckngly amazingly) came in 6th.  Well done fellas!!!

Shepard and Grazinao took Truex Jr. who has emerged as the favorite to win it all this year.  He may want to not wreck the field on the way to trying to bring home the Championship if he wants to achieve this goal.  He ended up EH... 13th and Shepard stays in 2nd and Graziano stays in 5th; clinging to the final spot to get into the Fluffer.

Rusty and Ideal didn't fare so well...  Rusty took Hamlin who looked like he may challenge Johnson at some point for the lead but blew an engine late in the race to DOOTW in 30th.  Rusty drops to 4th so it could be worse.  Ideal had the BSOTW this week with his 36th place Logano pick.  Ideal is in 7th and 26 points away from 5th... he'll most likely need 2 solid races or a win if he wants to make it to the Fluffer.

OTHER RAMBLINGS:

Our League looked a bit like the actual NASCAR Chase as we had some guys kicking ass and some shitting the bed.  We have Kansas on Sunday which is usually more predictable than Talladega, but so is Charlotte... and we saw how that worked out.  Available drivers is also an issue, so there's that.

I'm looking forward to seeing how it will play out... the only thing that is for certain is that Chonk will be in Fluffer Round.

Good luck in Kansas on Sunday!

Cheers!

Dover Results - The Rookies are Out...Damn! - On to the Teaser Round!!!!

Wow!  What a solid week the top 7 had in Dover... and they needed it.  Okay #Wifey took Harvick who shit the bed early on and ended any chance #Wifey had of moving on.  Would it have mattered?  The top 7 teams had such a solid day that maybe only a win would have guaranteed him a spot in the Teaser Round.  Look at Wheels... she gets a solid 3rd place finish from Chase and only gains 3 points on Beef who held on to the 7th spot.  Please stop reading this right now and give a round of applause for our 2 rookies for an outstanding 1st season (of many).  Congratulations also to our TOP 7!  Rusty, Shepard, Piston, Chonk, Graziano, Ideal, and Beef will all be battling it out for 5 spots in the Teaser Round.  Well done guys!

Here's a little Rules Refresher for you:
  • Second round (races 30-32) - “The Teaser”
    • The top five teams based on points accumulated during races 27-32 will advance to the 3rd round
    • Wins automatically advance teams; same format for filling in the balance of teams and tiebreakers applies
So here's all you need to do... get a win.  Wins are usually a good thing.  AND keep having solid weeks.  Points are accumulating from the Flirter to the Fluffer (1st through 3rd Rounds), so even if you get a win you still need to post solid points each race.  The pressure will stay on the whole way... and it must be nice.

OTHER RAMBLINGS:

Charlotte on Saturday, but I know you fools are so locked in that you won't forget to submit.

Teaser race 1 of 3.  We are pretty bunched up after 3 Chase Races, so no one is relaxing just yet.  Are you going to go balls to the wall or play it conservative and save your stuff???   I'm sure if I was in it I would be screwing it up for sure... what you gonna do?

Good luck to all!

Cheers!

New Hampshire Results - Nobody Picked Harvick - Lots of Shuffling but Rookies Still on the Outside Looking In. One More Race to Go in the Flirter Round!!!!

Hola Amigos and Amigas!  With race 2 in the books, we have settled absolutely nothing.  Nobody got a win in New Hampshire to lock in to the Teaser Round.  44 points separate 1st through 9th, so no one is safe... some are better off than others, but nobody is locked in after Race 2!

Race Recap:

Rusty and Shepard had the TOP PICK again this week along with and Ideal (5th).  They took 2nd Place Kenseth.  Rusty grabs 1st all alone now, Shepard jumps up a spot to 2nd, and Ideal jumps up 2 to 5th.  Graziano took 3rd place Kyle Busch and jumps up a spot to 5th.  #Wifey took 10th place Larson, but it wasn't enough to crack the top 7.  He jumps up a spot to 8th, but will need to gain 5 more points or a win in Dover to move on to the Teaser Round.

For a 2nd week in a row the rest of the Chasers had an Eh... kind of race finishing 11th to 20th.  This has a little more meaning this week as we are now down to the final Flirter race this weekend and we will be losing 2 teams at the end of the Dover race.  The pressure is on!

OTHER RAMBLINGS:

Things are still tight but have spread out a bit more as expected.  No one is in and no one is out as we head to Dover on Sunday.  A win and you're in, but that is easier said than done.  Bonus points are still a factor as the Rookies stay on the outside of the top 7... I can't wait til Sunday.

Good Luck to All!

Cheers!

Chicago Results - Nobody Picked Truex - Race 1 of 3 of the Flirter Round - All Bunched Up After Chicago - Rookies on the Outside Looking In!!!!!

Welcome to the Chase Mofos!  Well we are bunched up to start the 2016 Chase and race for the chips.  Some familiar teams running atop the leaderboard, but we are a long way from sorting this 1st round out.

Race Recap:

Rusty and Shepard had the TOP PICK Keselowski who finished 5th.  Rusty jumps up 2 spots into a tie for 1st and Shepard jumps up 2 spots to 3rd just 4 points off the lead.

Beef took Kenseth (9th) for a nice TOP 10 finish.  Beef jumps up 2 spots to 5th.

The rest of the Chasers had an EH... kind of race finishing from 11th to 20th.

OTHER RAMBLINGS:

So no one really shit the bed and no one locked in... and more importantly no one is out of it as 28 points separate the 1st and 9th spots.

An early observation shows that the Bonus Points are playing a big part in where you guys stand after the 1st race.  The Rookies find themselves on the outside looking in after the dust settles in Chicago.  Can it be overcome?  Absolutely.  7 and 10 points are the difference between the 7th, 8th and 9th place.

Piston and Rusty are leading the pack as we have seen all year but these preliminary rounds are all about survival.

Oh yeah... a win in the next 2 races will automatically put you into the Teaser Round... so there's that.  Just another thing for you guys to worry about.  Must be nice.

New Hampshire on Sunday.

Good luck to all!

Cheers!

For tie breaker purposes I will keep posting this info:

Richmond Results - 9 Teams IN - Bring on the Chase!!!!!!!

Another regular season is in the books and here's how it ended:

Race Recap:

Ideal gets a HUUUUGGGGE win with his Hamlin pick... he was on the bubble and needed a solid week to get in and he did.  AND he jumps up a spot and gets 2 extra Bonus points AND that win gets him 3 more bonus points to boot.  To recap:  Ideal locks in and grabs 5 extra Bonus points.    #simplefuckinggame

Chonk grabs some big bonus points by jumping up 2 spots.  Keselowski wrecked Kenseth and screwed Dust who was in the Elite 8 and fell out.  Kenseth was probably not going to win the race after the pit road speeding penalty... killing Skid and Penguin's chances.  Dust's loss is Wheels' gain as she took 2nd place Larson who catapults her back into the Elite 8 when it mattered the most.

Congratulations to the 9 teams who made the Chase this year!  For the 6 teams who didn't... bring on football, a stress free Chase Season, and the Baseball Postseason... with a small shout out to the golf playoffs... and plenty of booze as required.

On to the CHASE!!!

Here's how we look as we start the Chase:

Rules for the First round (races 27-29) - “The Flirter”
o   The top seven teams based on points accumulated during races 27-29 will advance to the 2nd round
o   Wins automatically advance a team (in theory) and add 3 extra points to that team’s total to start the next round
§  If every team has a win(s), teams will be eliminated according to the tiebreaker rule below
o   The balance of teams will be filled in according to points accumulated in the three-race Flirter Round
§  The first tiebreaker is number of wins in the current round
§  Second tiebreaker is number of wins during the entire Chase
§  Third tiebreaker is number of wins during the regular season
§  Fourth tiebreaker is number of points during the regular season
§  Fifth tiebreaker is whoever got their first win first

So, 2 teams will be knocked out after the next 3 races.  Wins are still important.  The 2 rookies are starting at the bottom as we begin the Chase, but at least they are in and have a chance.

Welcome to the Chase to you lucky bastards!  Good luck to all!

Cheers!

Darlington Official Results

Hola Mofos!  I wanted to post this for you since we are down to the last race on Saturday and I'm not sure when I will be able to do the recap this week.

The results stood:

Locked IN: Piston, Graziano, Shepard, Rusty, Beef, Chonk and #Wifey.

On the Bubble:  Dust +24, Ideal +7, Wheels -9, Skidmarks -35 (2 wins, so he'll most likely need a win to get in), Kiss -43 still has a mathematical chance, but it's probably over for him this year.

Need a Win in Richmond: Skidmarks -35 (so he could still get lucky and qualify on points, but would need multiple miracles), Penguin

Eliminated: Empty and Pursuit

It looks to me like Dust, Ideal, Wheels, and #Wifey will be battling it out for the final 2 spots.  Should be an interesting race in Richmond on Saturday night.

Hey Skid, let's get that 3rd win!

Good Luck to all!

Cheers!

Michigan Results - Larson Locks Chonk in the Chase!!! What about the rest of you???

Well lookey here... as guaranteed we had a winner this week.  Congrats to Chonk for locking in!  He now joins Rusty and #Wifey as guaranteed teams in the Chase.  But wait there's more... I can tell you that Piston and Graziano have locked in as well.  They are both more than 90 points away from 9th, so even if they finish last or DQ in the last 2 races they are in... Congrats fellas!

Race Summary:  Chonk won and picked up 2 huge spots in doing so.  Rusty and Beef each drop a spot in the Elite 8 and the rest of us pretty much stayed the same.

THROUGH THE FIELD:

LOCKED IN -CHASE HEALTH

 Piston - 1st - Looking good to finish 1 or 2
Graziano - 2nd - Looking good to finish 1 or 2
Chonk - 4th - Could catch 3rd, but will be fighting Rusty and Beef for 4th - 6th in Darlington
Rusty - 5th - Needs to stop the slide, but is in the fight for 4th-6th with Chonk and Beef
#Wifey - 10th - Could get back in the Elite 8, but will need 2 solid weeks and some luck.

ELITE 8 - CHASE HEALTH

Shepard - 3rd - Looking to lock in this week... could catch 2nd and will want to fend of those 4th-6th cars.
Beef - 6th - Needs to stay solid - 37 points ahead of 9th.  Could climb up a couple of spots.
Ideal - 7th - Needs to stay solid - 28 points ahead of 9th.  A solid week this week could decide if he will grab a higher qualifying spot or just try to hang on.  A win could potentially accomplish both.

ELITE 8 - CHASE HEALTH

Dust - 8th - Needs 2 more solid weeks - 15 points clear of 9th

OUTSIDE LOOKING IN - CHASE HEALTH

Wheels - 9th - Gained 3 points this week but needs 15 more - Stay solid and get a little luck - Must qualify on points if her Rookie Season will include a Championship run
Kiss - 11th - 29 points away - Will need some luck or win the next 2 races.

OUTSIDE LOOKING IN - CHASE HEALTH

Penguin - 12th - Needs 1 win
Skid - 13th - Needs 1 Win
Empty - 14th - Needs 2 wins
Pursuit - 15th - Needs 2 wins

OTHER RAMBLINGS:
