Bristol Results - Shake it up Baby!

Sometimes I hate being a genius... especially when my bold predictions impact me negatively... Wait a second... if I were truly a genius, I would know who is going to shit the bed and not pick the bed shitter with the most poo when I know things will shake up.  I guess I need to hone my genius skills a little.

Anyhoo... Bristol did not disappoint if you wanted to see things get rearranged.  A few teams got wins, a couple of teams did okay, a couple of teams were held under the covers and crop dusted, while over half of the league dreamt they were using their asses to rocket themselves around the night sky; only to awake in a bed full of poo.  Let's get to it.

TOP PICKS:

Rusty, Shepard, and Piston showed who are the true geniuses by picking the pole-sitter and eventual race winner Matt Kenseth.  Rusty jumps back into 1st place after falling out of the top spot a couple of races ago.  He also gets his 2nd win and is looking to be a lock for the post season.  Shepard's 1st win jumps him up 3 spots into that highly coveted 8th place position and is back in Club Ocho Primo.  Team Piston also gets their 1st win as they jump up 2 spots into 10th... just 4 points away from Club Ocho Primo!  Well done fellas and congrats on a great week!

EH...:

Skidmarks and Graziano chose 15th place Kurt Busch... this Eh... pick probably feels like a Top Pick given the circumstances this week.  These two Club Primo Ocho Members moved up to 3rd (Skid) and 4th (Graz) and jumped up 3 and 4 spots respectively while gracefully dodging all of the carnage.  I wish my Eh... picks were this good.  Well done guys!

DOOTW:

Running on Empty loses his hold on the top spot with his 24th place Edwards pick.  Empty drops only 1 spot with his Dutchy pick, so it could be worse... see Rasta and BSOTW below.  I think Empty will be just fine...

Rasta stays put in 13th with his 26th place Hamlin pick... Rasta's Hamlin pick is still better than half the league this week, even if Hamlin climbed out of the car during the rain delay and was replaced by an Xfinity Series stud.  However with a big 0 in the win column, Rasta will need to start turning it on if he plans to be a factor this year.

BSOTW:

Least Poo in Bed goes to 35th place finisher Brad K and Beef (11th), Pursuit (14th) and Chonk (15th)... these teams are not off to great starts this year, but there is still 18 races to go until the Chase.  Beef and Pursuit have 1 win each while Chonk has a big goose egg... time to hit the one on the right boys.

Most Poo in Bed goes to 37th place finisher and the fastest car in practice Kahne and Dust (T 5th), Ideal (T 5th), Kiss (7th), Penguin (9th), and Asleep (12th).  Dust and Ideal drop 3 spots from 2nd to 5th... Not really a big deal as they can definitely bounce back, but they are only 13 points ahead of 9th place... it's early.  Kiss drops 2 spots to 7th, but remains in Club Ocho Primo... so he has that going for him... which is nice.  Penguin falls out of Club Ocho Primo again, but is only 3 points out with 2 wins... so we're not sure which way he will f*ck this thing up this year.  Asleep is probably the most soiled with this pick as he sits in 12th with 1 win... no spots were lost, but a nice points day could have moved him a little closer to his happy place.  Practice???

Other Ramblings:

Another short track and another Saturday night race this week.

We are only 8 races into the 2015 season and it has been an eventful start.  A few teams may feel like they need to hit the panic button, but mostly everything is fairly bunched up.  1st through 7th could change in 1 race, 5th through 12th could do the same.  What we need to remember is that this league is all about runs... just like NASCAR.  Any team at this stage could put together 5 strong weeks or 5 shitty weeks and change their position in this league.  Trust me I know this all too well.  With 4 weeks until the Spring Semester is over for this season, it will be interesting to see if any teams make one of these runs that will set their stage for the rest of the season.  I'm guessing the answer will be multiple yeses.

Strap in and hang on boys... it's getting pretty good!

Cheers!
