Daytona 500 Results - Kiss the Wall starts off with a Bang!

Hola Amigos!  Well, we are back again for another 9 months of frustration and some teams are already feeling it.  This race had a little of everything for us... some really nice finishes, some "eh" finishes, some "Dutchy" finishes, and of course some "Bed Shitty" finishes.  No matter how your driver finished it was an impressive showing of just how talented these drivers are.... running 3 wide and over 200 MPH for 500 miles.... that's nuts when you think about it.

Top Picks:

Kiss was the only team to choose Logano (1st) and he starts the year with an entry in the win column.  Nice job Kiss!

The most popular pick was Dale Jr. (3rd)  - Skid, Rusty, Penguin, Empty, and Ideal are off to a nice start.

Dust chose Hamlin and a nice 4th place finish to start the season.

Eh:

I have to give Asleep's Daytona Danica pick an 'eh' even if she finished 21st.  Normally it would be at least a Dutch Oven of the Week award winner, but in this unpredictable race and all of the carnage behind him gets him a loose grip on the 8th place spot this week.

DOOTW:

Graz and Shepard chose McMurray (27th), but the 2010 500 winner crop dusted these guys.

Last year's Co-Champion* Chonk tried to sneak in a Stenhouse pick, but Danicky Jr. pulled the covers over Chonk's head and fired away with a 29th place finish.  I don't think Chonk will stay under the covers for long...

BSOTW:

Last year's 3rd place team Piston and Rasta took pole sitter Gordon who had the car to beat for the 1st half of the race.  But Gordon was shuffled to the back and was involved in that final lap big crash... and leaves Piston and Rasta sleeping in poo.

The most poo in the bed award goes to last year's Co-Champion* Beef and Pursuit for their 42nd place Stewart pick.  The good thing about this one is it happened early... like in the first 25 laps or something.  So, they had that going for them, which is nice....  sorry for the bad luck guys, but it is waaaaayyyyy sofa king early...

Other Ramblings:

Atlanta this week... I'm not sure what it means, but I think the new setup rules kick in for this race.  I don't know enough about it for it to affect my pick...

Get those payments in fellas!

Cheers!
