Sorry for the late post, but I spent my blog time trying to figure out the best way to track the Bonus Points. Basically I maintained the old spreadsheet and modified the standings tab, but I had a lot of catching up to do... anyhoo...
I'll make this quick...
Penalties Update: We're still waiting on the appeals... Rules Committee is all over it. I'm hoping for the best for those possibly impacted, but just know that there may be some points deductions when the smoke clears... but there may not be as well.
RACE RECAP:
Skidmarks, Fast, Shepard, Ideal, Kiss, and Lets Go, all took Larson who dominated the race. He won stage 1 and the race and potentially giving these guys 4 huge bonus points for the Chase. Skid, Fast and Shepard each already have 2 wins and are running 1st through 3rd... not surprising. Congratulations Guys!!!
Truex won stage 2 getting Penguin and Piston a nice Bonus Point*.
*I'm just going to start putting an * behind bonus point each time and you guys will have to know the caveat... that you have to be in the top 8 to start the Chase to get those points.
The points are crazy this year and there can be HUGE point swings each race... for example, Rusty BSOTW'd this week and took Newman had had a decent 15th place finish, but he loses 37 points in the standings to the Larson pickers. Wow!
If you took Kyle Busch you had a nice 8th place finish, right? Wrong. You DOOTW'd and you lost 20 points to the Larson pickers. Double Wow! Sorry Rudd, Spinning and Chicken.
A 10th place Elliott pick (Beef, Chonk, Graziano, Pursuit and Dust) is an Eh... pick because it loses you 16 points to the top pick... you get my point.

Martinsville on Sunday.
We have 2 rookies running in the Top 8. Check out Sophomore Spinning back in the Top 8. We also have some salty veterans as well. I like the mix...
