Richmond Results - 9 Teams IN - Bring on the Chase!!!!!!!

Another regular season is in the books and here's how it ended:

Race Recap:

Ideal gets a HUUUUGGGGE win with his Hamlin pick... he was on the bubble and needed a solid week to get in and he did.  AND he jumps up a spot and gets 2 extra Bonus points AND that win gets him 3 more bonus points to boot.  To recap:  Ideal locks in and grabs 5 extra Bonus points.    #simplefuckinggame

Chonk grabs some big bonus points by jumping up 2 spots.  Keselowski wrecked Kenseth and screwed Dust who was in the Elite 8 and fell out.  Kenseth was probably not going to win the race after the pit road speeding penalty... killing Skid and Penguin's chances.  Dust's loss is Wheels' gain as she took 2nd place Larson who catapults her back into the Elite 8 when it mattered the most.

Congratulations to the 9 teams who made the Chase this year!  For the 6 teams who didn't... bring on football, a stress free Chase Season, and the Baseball Postseason... with a small shout out to the golf playoffs... and plenty of booze as required.

On to the CHASE!!!

Here's how we look as we start the Chase:

Rules for the First round (races 27-29) - “The Flirter”
o   The top seven teams based on points accumulated during races 27-29 will advance to the 2nd round
o   Wins automatically advance a team (in theory) and add 3 extra points to that team’s total to start the next round
§  If every team has a win(s), teams will be eliminated according to the tiebreaker rule below
o   The balance of teams will be filled in according to points accumulated in the three-race Flirter Round
§  The first tiebreaker is number of wins in the current round
§  Second tiebreaker is number of wins during the entire Chase
§  Third tiebreaker is number of wins during the regular season
§  Fourth tiebreaker is number of points during the regular season
§  Fifth tiebreaker is whoever got their first win first

So, 2 teams will be knocked out after the next 3 races.  Wins are still important.  The 2 rookies are starting at the bottom as we begin the Chase, but at least they are in and have a chance.

Welcome to the Chase to you lucky bastards!  Good luck to all!

Cheers!
