Talladega Carnage - Keselowski Gets the Win for 1 Team - Dale Jr. BSOTWs for a Bunch of Teams - And We Have a New Leader!!!

The Talladega Crapshoot definitely lived up to its' reputation this week.  We had a win, a last place finish, a lead change, everybody but Pursuit shuffles positions this week... just another crazy eventful race for this &*^%ing League.  Who would have thought Dale Jr. would play the part of Start and Park Jumpsuit Pisser???

Lots of stuff to cover so let's get to it.

TOP PICKS:

Brad Keselowski brought it home for the win for a desperate Penguin.  1st win for Penguin as he busts into the Elite 8 jumping 6 spots into a tie for 6th.  Booyah!

Austin Dillon finished 3rd for Graziano and Ideal.  Graz jumps up a spot to 3rd just 4 points away from the top spot.  Ideal also breaks into the Elite 8 jumping 4 spots into a tie for 6th.  Ideal also has 2 wins and is in a great position to make the playoffs.  Great Job Guys!

Chase Elliott finished 5th for Piston who jumps up 2 big spots and takes the lead from Rusty.  It seemed like it was just a matter of time that team Piston would grab the lead.  They have been running well all season thus far and look to be a strong contender for the title this season.  Bam!

Ryan Blaney took 9th for Shepard.  What a great pick!  Blaney was solid all race and was basically stress free the entire time.  Talladega is usually crazy and a prime race for a sleeper pick like this and it must feel good when that pick turns out well for you.  Shepard jumps up 2 spots to 5th.  Boom!

EH...:

Chonk picked Stenhouse Jr. who navigated his way to a 16th place finish.  All things considered (or as many things as my small brain can consider) this was a solid race for Chonk.  Chonk is in a good spot if you take a closer look and your glass is half full.  2 wins and only 26 points away from the Elite 8... Chonk is not out of this thing by any means.  Nicely done Chonk!

DOOTW:

Rusty took Menard who finished 26th.  Rusty ends his 4 race run at the top but only falls 1 spot to 2nd.  He's only 3 points out of 1st, so not a bad Dutch Oven if you think about it.

Wheels took Hamlin who finished 31st.  Wheels was hit a little harder, as she drops 2 spots to 4th.  I'm expecting another rebound race out of her this week and if I had to give this rookie a grade after the 1st 10 races, it would be a big A+.

BSOTW:

Dale Jr. shit the bed this week just as he did in Daytona.  He just lost control of his race car and slammed into the wall.  In doing so he slams 7 teams this week.  #Wifey falls 3 spots to 8th  (Also an A+ grade for this rookie).  Empty falls 3 spots to 9th.  Dust, Beef, and Skid each drop 2 spots to 10th, 11th, and 12th respectively.  While Kiss drops a spot to 14th and Pursuit stays at the bottom in 15th.  This BSOTW hit some teams harder than others, but it is better for this kind of crappy race to happen early I guess.  Time to rebound in Kansas fellas.

OTHER RAMBLINGS:

Kansas this week on Saturday.

Un-Freakin-Believable how volatile the Vegas favorite most popular pick has been for us this year.  I think Jr. was 3.5 to 1 or 4 to 1 favorite to win this race.

I am thinking of changing the BSOTW to Start and Park Jumpsuit Pisser... I got this from a name from one of the teams in Ideal's NASCAR League and I freakin' love it.  If any of you ever read this far, please weigh in if you think it may be a better name for the BSOTW award.

Get your picks in... I'm going to the beach this weekend to see my Mom so I may not be able to remind you.  I'll still try to post picks within a reasonable time... in theory.

Happy Mother's Day to you Mothers!

Cheers!

Richmond Results - Edwards Wins Again - But Nobody Picked Him BUT We Have a Little Shuffling Going On!!!

Howdy Amigos!  No team picked up a win in Richmond but many teams had solid finishes.  A couple of teams in the elite 8 struggled while one team on the outside looking in had the top pick.  All in all just over half of the teams shuffled places this week, but no one jumped more than 1 spot up and no one fell more than 2 spots down.

TOP PICKS:

Skidmarks had the top pick of Kyle Busch (2nd).  Skid moves from a tie for 11th into a tie for 10th and is only 13 points out of the Elite 8.  Nice job Skid!!!

#Wifey (5th +1 spot) and Dust (8th +1 spot) took 3rd Place Johnson.

Wheels (2nd +1 Spot), Graz (4th), Empty (5th +1 spot) took 5th place Harvick.

Kiss stays in 13th with his 6th place Hamlin Pick.

Rusty (1st), Penguin (12th -1 spot), and Chonk (14th) took Logano who rallied back to an 8th place finish.

Ideal (10th) and Pursuit (15th) took 10th place finisher Kurt Busch.

EH...:

Beef (9th -1 spot) took 11th place Keselowski and Shepard (7th -2 spots) took 13th place Dale Jr.

Neither of these pics were terrible but they do lose valuable spots this week.

DOOTW/BSOTW:

Piston (3rd -1 spot) took Allmendinger who finished 25th.  Piston only drops 1 spot but loses valuable points this week.  I love it when my BSOTWs are only a 25th place finish.  Not too bad considering...

OTHER RAMBLINGS:

Talladega this week on Sunday.  A little earlier start time this week, so get those picks in.

Skidmarks had a nice finish this week but not great results in the standings.  If you look at this League race by race it can be a little frustrating on races like this.  The tough thing about this week is he only gains 3 points on 8th and 7 points on 1st, because 12 of the 15 teams had top 10 finishes.  However, you have to keep your eye on the big picture and feel good about each and every point gained over the course of the season as you try and position yourself for the Post Season.  Hell yes a win would have been great and losing it like he did must have been excruciating, but a solid week is always a very good thing... especially during this phase of the season.

I'm hoping Dega is an awesome race and not just a bunch of drafting until a final lap of carnage... unless my pick wins of course.

Cheers!

Richmond Drivers

Good Luck Guys and Girl!  My dog's nanny says she'll stream the race from her phone if I come down to the beach and watch them swim.  I wonder where she is keeping her phone... Oh well.

Bristol Results - Edwards Rises Above the Chaos and Carnage Gets Wins for 2 Teams!!!

I knew it was going to be an awesome race when I saw Kyle Busch slamming into the f*&%ing wall before I could even get the drivers posted.  You gotta love Bristol... FML.  Lots of good stuff happened for some and some carnage and chaos for others... Let's get to it.

TOP PICKS:

Piston and Chonk took Race Winner Edwards.  Piston get their 1st win and jump up 2 spots to 2nd.  Team Piston have been solid all year basically running in the top 4 all year (except for week 2) and now are just 2 points back from the top spot.  Will we see a new leader soon?  Chonk climbs out of the basement to 14th but more importantly get his 2nd HUGE win.  He also gains 39 points on 1st and 27 points on 8th.  Awesome job guys!

Kiss took Rookie Chase Elliott who finished 4th.  Kiss stays in 13th, but gains 31 points on the top spot and 19 points on 8th!  He's still 78 points out of 1st and 35 points away from 8th, but this shows you how things can change in a hurry in this damn League.  Nicely done Kiss!

Beef took Harvick (7th) and busts his way into the Elite 8.  He jumps up 4 big spots and clears 9th by just 2 points.  With 0 wins you have to be in the top 8 to get to the postseason... I know we have a long way to go, but life is better when you're running in the top 8... at least I think it would be.  Booya Beef!

Graz and Pursuit took Logano who brought it home in 10th.  Graziano jumps up 2 spots to 4th and is steadily climbing towards the front.  Pursuit actually drops to solo 15th, but gains 26 points on the leader and 14 points on 8th.  Solid week fellas!

EH:

Dust took Kahne (17th).  Dust actually gains 2 spots to 9th and is just 2 points out of the Elite 8.  With 1 win is his pocket and knocking on the door of the Elite 8, this EH... pick is not too bad.

#Wifey and Empty took Hamlin (20th).  #Wifey stays in 6th with his 2 wins and Empty gains a spot to 7th.  Given the carnage and chaos that happened in Bristol, this was not a bad finish.

DOOTW:

Rusty, Shepard and Skidmarks took 36th place Kenseth.  Rusty clings to the top spot by 2 points, Shepard falls 2 spots to 5th and Skidmarks drops a spot to 11th.  Skidmarks takes the biggest beating in this group, but with 1 win and just 16 points out of the Elite 8... I think Skid will be just fine.

BSOTW:

Speaking of beatings... Spinning, Ideal and Penguin took the guy who had been kicking Nascar's ass for the last year Kyle Busch who mistakenly thought he was in a dirt track demolition derby exhibition.  Spinning drops a spot to 3rd, Ideal drops 5 big spots to 10th and Penguin drops 2 spots to 11th.  Spinning was trying to rebound a little but is just fine in 3rd and Ideal was trying to lock into the Chase this week, but still has 2 wins, but Penguin... Gaaaawwwwddddddaaammmnniiiitttttttt!

OTHER RAMBLINGS:

Richmond this week on Sunday.

Nothing like going for wins, using a top driver to go for said wins, and ending up with nothing but a nice BSOTW.  It's funny about this League when you think of it... the huge favorite wins sometimes, but typically Vegas odds are usually 300 or 400 to 1 for that favorite to win in a given week.  Take Harvick in Phoenix... he dominates, but last Phoenix race I think he was 250 to 1.  So "going for wins" is really kind of a scary proposition if you think of it that way.  Congrats to those of you who have found the magic this year... the rest of us are jealous no doubt.

Good luck this weekend.

Cheers!

Bristol Drivers

I was chatting with my Dog's Nanny about our favorite passing maneuvers at Bristol... although she enjoys the pressure moves, the slide jobs, the pick and rolls... the Bump and Dump is definitely her favorite.   It makes her so giddy...  I hope your drivers don't get Bumped and Dumped, but it'll be fun to watch if they do.

Lone Star Results - Kyle Busch Wins, but Nobody Picked Him...

Howdy Folks!  Texas was on the surface rather uneventful... and considering last week, I'm guessing some of you were happy about that.  But if you look a little deeper, you'll see Rusty pulling away a little, Shepard continuing his march to the front, and those back of the pack cars with 1 win each are falling further behind and may possibly be close to rethinking their strategy right about now.  But hey, there's 19 races left, so it may really be uneventful in the grand scheme of things.

No real need to go into detail this week, but Truex and Edwards seemed to be the class of the field.  They both ran solid all race and didn't finish badly, but they couldn't close it out and get that win...

Piston had the BSOTW with Dillon who finished 19th and they drop to 4th.  The bottom 3 took Keselowski who finished 18th and gets the DOOTW for Chonk, Pursuit and Kiss.  Those guys needed a strong week this week and although 18th is not a bad DOOTW, it drops them even further behind.

OTHER RAMBLINGS:

Bristol this week on Sunday.

Cheers!
